Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Meet Perfectly Precious Pebbles! She is currently not quite 9 pounds, about 5 months old, and that adorable underbite makes us believe that she may be a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Pebble's video here: Perfectly Precious Pebbles is indeed perfectly precious and we absolutely stand by that name. This sweet fluffers will snatch up your heartstrings and you'll have no regrets, because this gorgeous girl is pure delight. Pebbles is such an easy-going and darling girl - she doesn't mind being dressed up or carried upside-down in your arms like the babydoll that she is, and she actually enjoys being close to you and cuddled at every opportunity. We think this tiny social butterfly will be someone's perfect lapdog, and she would do equally well as a solo dog in the home or with any other dogs (she loves to meet other dogs of all sizes and has no fear - all confidence, lol). If it's not already apparent from the photos, you will notice that Pebbles has a slight underbite, and it's quite endearing. It makes every one of her expressions that much cuter to see those pearly whites of her lower teeth every so often! This adorable tiny fluffbucket has a natural bounce when she walks, and we love to see her happy prance, floppy ears, and endless tail wags. Pebbles is currently in a loving and experienced foster home with other dogs and is living her best playful puppy life - all she needs right now is YOU! Pebbles is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Story
Hello there! I’m Norman—though you can call me Squeaky, a fun nod to my past. I’m a charming 12-year-old neutered Shih Tzu, full of love and life experience! My favorite activities include soaking up the sun with cozy naps on the bed or lounging on my fluffy rug in front of the shower. One of my unique talents? Giving delightful leg licks! I have a special fondness for calves but I’m happy to show my affection to any reachable spot. While I’m not much into toys or playtime, there’s nothing quite like a good belly scratch that will have me rolling over with joy! I’m a bit of a mystery when it comes to cats—I can’t quite see them since I’m mostly blind—but as long as they’re cool with me, I’m totally chill! I might let out a playful raspy bark that sounds like a charming 70-year-old smoker, just to keep you on your toes! Playful pups don’t really catch my interest; I’m a simple guy with simple needs. What I’m truly on the lookout for is a loving human who can offer me affection, a steady routine, and a cozy spot to snooze. Since I’m visually impaired, I’ll need a bit of awareness when I’m wandering around your lovely home or yard. A gentle wave or a slap on your thigh will have me prancing over to you with the happiest little skip you can imagine! So, if you’re ready to be my forever human, know that all my love is waiting just for you. I can’t wait to share my heart and my cozy moments with you! Norman has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Hi. My name is One-Eyed Willy. My foster family also calls me William. I got the name, well because I’ve only got one eye. Don’t worry. I promise I’m just like any other dog. Especially one who loves a good treat. I am going to need a family who will really love me through my golden years. I’m approximately 12 years old and am for the most part deaf. Don’t let the sound of that fool you. I have still got a lot of life left in me. First, I am all about walking… I walk all day long. Yes, I’ll take a couple naps throughout the day but if I’m not napping I’m taking a stroll or doing laps around my foster home. Because I like to explore, I do need a safe environment with preferably as few stairs as possible. If my new home does have stairs, I will figure them out but it takes me a little while to get used to my new environment. Trust me, once I know where they are, I won’t fall down the stairs. If I will be left unattended at all in an outdoor yard area, window wells need to be covered. What else? Oh, yeah. Because of my age I’ve only got a couple teeth left. That doesn’t stop me from snacking on hard kibble but soft food is definitely an easier and more efficient way for me to eat. I get along great with other dogs and would probably do okay with cats. Little kids move a bit too fast for me, so kids over 8 only, please. Housetraining in my new home should be fairly easy once I understand where you want me to go. My foster mom thinks I was trained to use a dog door in my last home, so if you have a safe, fenced backyard and a dog door, we should be good to go! I’m also crate-trained and sleep quietly in my crate all night. Now tell me I don’t sound like the perfect companion for you and your family. You should really think about being my forever family! Willy has been neutered, has had a dental cleaning, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm, and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text 801-467-8610 or email svalentine46@gmail.com.
