I`m Precious, a 14 year old, 8 pound, female shih tzu. Looking to give a senior a second chance? Check me out! I came to Second Chance after my owner passed away. The volunteers at the shelter call me a `spunky senior` because I have lots of energy and love to get out and about! I`m in great health for my age, I need eye drops for allergies, but I`m a super good girl and sit very still for my daily drops. I absolutely love people, whether I`m receiving head pats or sitting in your lap, I`m enjoying whatever affection comes my way. I`m not afraid of anything, I walk around the shelter like I own it, not even the big dogs scare me. I would be great in a home with cats or other dogs. I love treats and I`m easily bribed into becoming your friend. Looking for a spunky, outgoing senior? Look no further!Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.

All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update.
