Story
Truce is around 6-7 months old now. He came to us when he was 4 months old. His original owner found him and kept him until she was diagnosed with cancer. I volunteered to take care of him hoping to take the extra load off of her but now that I’m entering nursing school, and will be living alone soon with already 1 dog that I grew up with, I regretfully can’t take care of him anymore. He is a very sweet boy but he barks a lot because he loves attention and gets attached quickly. He never runs off when he goes outside without a leash, and he’s very playful. He just loves to be around people as much as possible and plays well with my other shih tzu. But she was recently attacked so it’s been hard with the medical bills & attention she needs because she’s older and stubborn. I just feel really bad not being able to give him the love and attention he truly deserves. Everyone around me all have dogs so they aren’t willing to take him in. And my other family are allergic or don’t like dogs.

Story
“In my spare time, I invented the fist bump, planking, tear-away pants, autotune!, backside ollie, and… Zumba!” Yes, that’s right. This little man is more than just his good looks and classic underbite. Turns out, he’s got a big brain in that noggin’ too! Mr. Peabody was rescued by a local shelter in Karnes before he was transferred to SNIPSA. This boy was desperately needing a groom, and once we got him all cleaned up, we learned that he had also never missed a meal! We also noticed that Mr. Peabody seems to have lost most–if not all–of his eyesight. This may have been due to chronic dry eye that was left untreated during his time on the streets. Through it all, we couldn’t help but notice Mr. Peabody’s chillaxed, thoughtful, and friendly disposition. He was an angel through several car rides, his groom at Wash Shake Wag, and his work-up and exam at our veterinary clinic. He is even polite towards other dogs! Overall, Mr. Peabody is relatively quiet, though he enjoys spectating his humans and receiving belly rubs. And watch out—if you give him a snack, he will certainly ask for more! This gentleman would easily settle into a home that offers him lots of cozy areas where he can ponder his existence. If you’re ready to give your heart to a dog who is wise beyond his years, apply today!
