Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Elsa arrived to our organization after she was rescued from a frozen canal. She was extremely matted and a walking skeleton. Despite her ordeal, Elsa demostrated she is a survivor. Elsa is a beautiful 3-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs approximately 12 pounds. She is initially shy but once you offer her treats, she quickly displays her affectionate and loyal nature. And she loves toys!!! Elsa has a history of bladder stones. She will need a low phosphorus/sodium diet to prevent/manage bladder stones. Elsa can get possessive of toys/high value treats so monitor interactions with other dogs or children. Elsa may need additional assistance with housebreaking as she adjusts to new schedules. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease. All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.
