You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   This baby was surrendered to our rescue with his let eye socket had a substantial discharge. His left eye had been removed, but they failed to remove the 'third eyelid' and that caused a problem.  We repaired the botched enucleation while he was under for his dental and neuter.  He was underweight on intake so we added higher calorie food to his diet. ***COURTESY POST*** Meet Harold! Harold is a 3-year-old Chow/Shih Tzu mix and weighs about 25 pounds. He's a little shy at first, but once he comes around, WATCH OUT... he's a total love bug! Harold loves playing with his other 4-legged foster friends and playing "Chase me around the house while I carry your laundry in my mouth," with his foster mom. He is crate trained, house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands. Because of his uncertainty around humans, Harold would not be suitable for a home with children under the age of 12. He absolutely loves toys and totes them about so everyone can admire his good fortune. Harold's hobbies include plowing through sticker bushes, giving hugs, car trips, and cheese tastings. Meet Mayor, a kind-hearted 23 lbs 10 year old senior Lhasa Apso/Shih-tzu mix. If you are looking for a relaxing companion to accompany you on daytime naps and lounges in the sun, you have found your guy! He has gotten along great with his foster dog siblings and has been friendly with everyone he has met. Mayor is great with all people and dogs - as long as they respect that he is vision-impaired and are gentle with him. It is scary not being able to see well, but Mayor doesn't seem to let it slow him down. This sweet little man would love a forever home to live out his golden years. Mayor is almost completely blind, so he will need a family that is patient with him in his early days at home while he learns his area and his routine. Once he has gotten used to his routine, he is good with his house-training and knows to go potty outside. He is also great on a leash and on car rides. He is neutered, up to date on shots, hw negative, microchipped and just had a dental. Adoption fee is: $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. Cody Lee & Jody Bob are bonded Shihtzu brothers. They are 18 months old (DOB approx 5/23) Cody Lee is 15lbs and Jody Bob is 18lbs. They both love to sleep with their person. They like to ride in the car and will ride in a crate, but are not fond of sleeping in their crates. Jody Bob is a Velcro boy and loves to follow his person around the house while Cody Lee is a little more independent. They both get along well with other dogs. They are potty trained if taken out on a consistent basis. Cody does have a cataract in his left eye but it dosen't seem to bother him. They are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, fecal and Heartworm negative Adoption fee is: $500.00 ea. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract.
