All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

I`m Precious, a 14 year old, 8 pound, female shih tzu. Looking to give a senior a second chance? Check me out! I came to Second Chance after my owner passed away. The volunteers at the shelter call me a `spunky senior` because I have lots of energy and love to get out and about! I`m in great health for my age, I need eye drops for allergies, but I`m a super good girl and sit very still for my daily drops. I absolutely love people, whether I`m receiving head pats or sitting in your lap, I`m enjoying whatever affection comes my way. I`m not afraid of anything, I walk around the shelter like I own it, not even the big dogs scare me. I would be great in a home with cats or other dogs. I love treats and I`m easily bribed into becoming your friend. Looking for a spunky, outgoing senior? Look no further!Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
