Story
Bailey Bob is a 13 lb. young shitzu who was rescued from a high risk shelter in south Texas. He's approximately 2-3 years old. We don't know what happened to Bailey Bob before he came to CAMO, but he has suffered a neurological injury that has caused him to lose his vision and sometimes walk in circles Bailey has made amazing progress in accepting new friends. He is very very sweet and loving to the people he knows- including his foster dad and our wonderful dog sitters who are a married couple. He loves sun bathing and especially music! He loves to play with toys. He does decent with a potty pad but best outside. However, we do use a belly band as he marks (mostly because every other dog has first)- but he knows the word no. He cannot walk on a leash and would not be appropriate in an apartment (as he can be very vocal) but he would be a fantastic companion for the right home. He would do best as an only dog but another dog who can ignore him would be totally fine. Bailey Bob's adoption fee is WAIVED TO THE RIGHT HOME. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
Astra is a sweet and loving Shih Tzu that was rescued from the Palm Valley Animal Shelter because of a fractured spine. She was on a tight deadline when we rescued her from euthanasia. Astra is about 4 years old and weighs 14 pounds. She is a special needs pup and her adoption fee is waived to the right home. She will need to be 'expressed' to help her go potty. Astra is sweet, friendly, is able to get around by dragging her upper body and loves to play with her toys and other small dogs. Due to her injury no big dogs or kids under 14 please. We spent over $10,000 getting her surgery and healthy!! Astra's adoption fee is WAIVED TO THE RIGHT HOME. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Story
Rosie Cherry is a sweet little lady that is about 12 years old. She is a Shih-Tzu mix and has some health needs, but it doesn't slow her down! She is a fast learner and loves to be wherever her human is. She is mostly housebroken but will have an occasional accident if not taken out regularly. She loves dinnertime and taking her meds. She can be playful with encouragement but really enjoys sitting back and listening. Rosie has diabetes and mature cataracts (blind), congestive heart failure, a 5/6 heart murmur, but she is responding well to her medication/special diet and will need to continue them. Rosie gets along with other dogs and has been around a cat. Rosie Cherry adoption fee is $100. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Story
Are you looking for a family member who will bring a smile to your face and warm your heart? If so, you should definitely consider Kioki. Though Kioki is a 15-year-old shih tzu mix and came into the rescue with a collapsing trachea and airway disease, after finding the right veterinary care, she has made a remarkable transformation. Her foster mom has gone from worrying that CAMO could not save her to marveling as she runs around the backyard. She went from coughing for hours on end to coughing a couple times a day perhaps for a minute. In spite of many sleepless nights early on, her foster mom absolutely adores her. The way she looks at people just melts one's heart. Kioki was adopted from a local shelter at 4 years old and returned to the same shelter to be euthanized. Luckily, the shelter staff wanted to give her a chance if they could find a rescue to take her in. CAMO stepped up. Kioki has been fully vetted, spayed and is heartworm negative. She weighs in at approximately 10 pounds. She is house trained and sleeps in her crate with the door open through the night. She does have a cataract but has vision in her other eye and gets around with no problem. She is on two eye drops twice a day which she tolerates. Her foster mom puts two medications in her meals but at the rate Kioki is going, it may be down to one soon. She gets along with other dogs though she would be good as an only dog. If you are looking for a loving companion and would like to provide Kioki the home she deserves during her senior years, go to www.camorescue.com to submit an application. You will not regret it. Kioki's adoption fee is $100.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
