Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Noel – A Devoted Little Shadow Looking for the Right Person Noel is a one-year-old female Shih Tzu with a tender heart and a deep desire to be close to her people. Her early life wasn’t ideal - she spent most of her puppyhood isolated in a backyard without the socialization and structure she needed. Because of that, Noel will need a patient, experienced adopter who understands separation anxiety and is committed to helping her feel safe and secure. Noel may be shy at first but once she realizes she’s safe, she bonds very quickly - usually within a day or two. When that bond forms, she becomes incredibly loving, affectionate, and people-oriented. Her challenge is that she struggles when she cannot see or be near a human and will bark or cry if left alone, especially during transitions. She is still working on house-training and is making progress but she will need continued consistency, supervision, and positive reinforcement. As a Shih Tzu, Noel will require regular professional grooming and daily coat care. She is also small, adorable, and quick, so her future home must be secure and attentive - doors, gates, and outdoor spaces will need to be managed carefully. Noel will thrive in a home that: Has someone home most of the time or willing to work through separation anxiety Has experience with anxious or under-socialized dogs Is committed to positive-reinforcement training Understands that progress takes time, patience, and structure Can provide consistent companionship and routine Noel is not a “low-maintenance” dog—but for the right person, she will be a deeply devoted companion who just wants to love and be loved in return. ❤️ Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $250. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories. Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.
