Story
Mokey is super sweet and laid back - her goal in life is to chill. While she doesn't "move like Jagger," she definitely has "a tongue like Jagger" that partially hangs out of the side of her mouth at times. You can easily see her tongue in it's full glory when she eats or yawns. She has a healthy appetite and eats twice a day, although because of her tongue and not having many teeth, she can be a a very messy eater. She also LOVES treats as long as they are soft and crumbled! She did have an eye removed after a bout of glaucoma, but she is feeling much better with it gone as it can be very painful when there is increased pressure in the eye!She loves a nice cuddly bed! She picks one out each day to enjoy! Mokey is blind and deaf at age 14 years old but she has NO fear in exploring her surroundings. She IS NOT a fan of the cold! Mokey is potty trained and knows how to use the dog door to get back in the house after she goes potty! She can even find the couch on her own so being blind is nothing to her. She is pretty independent but does enjoy getting pets and being near her person. She even knows when her foster Mom is going to bed and finds her way to the doggy bed in that room. She likes laying in the grass and catching some rays when it is not too hot. She gets along with other dogs/cats but seems more interested in sleeping than socializing.Mokey is a precious little senior angel on the inside and it would mean the world to her foster Mama to find an adopter that can spend the time with her and give her the love she so deserves for the time she has left. More importantly, it would mean the world to Mokey. 💜.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Story
Buddy lead a charmed life for the past decade - he had a Mama who loved him so much and would cook eggs for him every morning and doted on him. Sadly, she passed away and now Buddy is left missing her but also eager to share the second half of his life with an equally wonderful human. He is a wallflower. He is mostly like compared to Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street. He does not make a sound and prefers a fluffy doggy bed in which he will lay in for hours. He loves being outside. He has to be coaxed in to coming inside and while this is so funny, his foster mom has to sing Buddy, Buddy Buddy Buddy 🎶🎶🎶 and he will come inside - most of the time but sometimes you just have to pick him up. 🤣 He does meander around the yard and will try to find an escape route, so it is imperative that he be supervised while outside. He loves to show his belly and silently with his pleading eyes will ask for belly rubs. He loves all dogs but will not be happy about a dog in his space, he does not like licks or kisses from other dogs, but will snuggle with a dog anytime. He does not like to share food and prefers to eat in private or off alone in a corner. He gets a spoonful of peanut butter each morning in lieu of eggs now. He is house trained but will have an accident if he doesn't go right before bedtime. He's an "old professor type" and so sweet. He is absolutely the best senior doggy around! Can you live up to the love and care that his first Mom gave him? Then maybe you should invite Buddy to join your family! To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
