Barney is a 14-years-young shih tzu mix. We don’t really know much about his background, other than that, when he was brought into the shelter, he had to be shaved and had a raging ear infection so bad that his foster family thought he was deaf. Barney has had a dental, cleared up the ear infection and adjusted to life in his foster home. He has learned lots of new things, proving that you absolutely can teach an old dog new tricks, and that he is not deaf. He uses the doggie door like a champ and is currently living with 5 other dogs. He is a very pleasant fellow who likes to be in the same room with his people. He would make a great companion for someone older who is home most of the time. He walks great on a leash but really doesn’t need to go too far. He is housetrained, but he isn’t a huge fan of the rain. His foster family can’t say enough good things about him and says he is a very easy keeper who deserves a second ‘leash’ at a great life. TOBY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!   This little fella is a real love bug!  I'm hoping one of the kind of adopters who call and ask for a sweet little lap dog will decide he's the right one.  He wants to be with his human all the time,,, so needs someone who is around home most of the time. He's thru his vetting,,,, he got a dental done this week and  is ready to go.  I figured a little preview might be a good idea so you got to see his "before pics".... now I have a couple newer ones to share We think Toby is about 10 years old and he weighs about 14 pounds.  So far, he's been happy to interact with every human he's met.  He's been fine with all the other dogs, but doesn't seem to have much interest in them, one way or the other,,,, he wants a person.  We haven't had any opportunity to see how he is with cats.November 6, 2024, 12:12 am

Hazel is a 9 year old senior who is easy to love. Her foster mom describes her as, "a happy old lady" who enjoys the simple things in life. You can most often find her near her foster pawrents, preferably sitting right next to them or in a lap. When she isn't living her best life as a lapdog, she enjoys wondering around the yard and exploring all the sights and smells. Hazel is deaf, so will need a patient family who can work with her on visual cues. She also has no teeth and will need soft food. She doesn't let either one of these things slow her down and will make a very loving companion to a lucky family.
