Story
Bear was on the streets of Houston, headed to a kill shelter when one of our southern fosters stepped in and saved this handsome boy.Bear is a sweet little dog and a great size. He is 13 pounds of love and fun. He is very playful, loves to give kisses, and loves all toys. He also loves his toys like a toddler, gets them all out, and leaves them all over the floor. He loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He was fine with cats, too. Bear will do great in any home. He is not living with children, and we do not know if he ever has, so we think age older children would be best. He has met and played with his foster neighbor's children, and he does great with them.He is house-trained, crate-trained, and uses a doggy door. His foster mom can't say enough good things about him. Did we mention he is a great cuddler and lap ornament?? Well, he is!Bear will do great in any home. The neighbor's kids would play, and he did great with them.Name: BearBreed: Shih Tzu/PoodleSex: MaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 13lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Texarkana Tx     IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Adoption Donation    $550    Located:  RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: approx. 10 months to 1 years old Weight:  7 lbs. Jinx is the sweetest, friendliest, happiest boy in the world! He came to us with a limp that turned out to be an orthopedic condition and had a surgery on September 5 which was entirely successful. He's now ready to enjoy life with a family of his own!    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  leibe0606@yahoo.com   Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 2 years (as of 10/2/24) Weight: 17.0 (as of 9/9/24) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Lacey is a sweet little girl who gets along with cats and dogs! PS - she loves cats! Lacey is described as playful, gentle and affectionate. She is crate trained, walks well on a leash and enjoys a car ride. She was adopted once and ended up back in a shelter through no fault of her own. This pint sized princess would make a great companion and may prefer a quiet household with older children or adults.   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:  Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.October 15, 2024, 3:25 pm

Story
If you would like to apply to take Milo home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Milo is around 13 months old, he’s been shaved since these pics were taken and you can see how he looks now in the last picture, but his beautiful hair is growing back. Milo is an energetic boy, he needs lots of activity in his life, he’s great with other dogs, but doesn’t like to share food or treats and as a rule we don’t have toys around to save any issues. He needs someone who isn’t going to baby him to start off with, he needs a leader, and someone that will take the time to work with him through his little idiosyncrasies. We would say no children for Milo, at this point he would be better in an older household with smaller dog experience. Available for meet and greet in CT or RI
