Story
Need to rehome this sweetheart. I inherited this cute little girl a few months ago, she was abandoned at a friends house, I took her instead of sending to shelter. Cleaned her up, trimmed her horrible knots out, can now see her sweet eyes. Her name is Loca, She is totally adorable, BUT needs someone who works part time, or is home more often than I am. So I am looking for her new forever home 🩷 she is a shitzhu, about 5 years old, she did not get along with other dogs until I took her in, she and Coco are becoming pals. She is housebroken and listens very well. I have been working on socialization as best I can. She was timid and quiet at first now have her playing with balls, and running around with me. She has become a snuggler too 🙂

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Cushion is precious.    Cushion was a heap of hair and smelled AWFUL of urine when she arrived.  Have no fear we had her professionally groomed immediately!  Her mom Candy is here also.Cushion is super sweet and very active.  They are not totally potty trained and will go to no one who has young children.  If you are looking for an awesome duo these two fit the bill :)NO childrenMUST have a fenced yardMUST be adopted with CandyVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Butter is back! (No one’s fault). He is a highly energetic 2 yr, 13 lb shih tzu mix. Butter is very loving and affectionate. He loves being outside and playing with his toys. He is crate trained and working on his house training. He’s good on the leash, he pulls a little cause he’s so excited but that can be easily be addressed. He needs a family that can meet the needs of his activity level. He’s good with kids and other dogs and is cat friendly (no cats in his foster home). If you missed out on Butter now’s your chance to make him a part of your family! He is fostered in Westminster, MD. New Oxford, PA, 17350; LIC #9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Story
Who's gray and white and ready to snuggle with her people all day? I'll give you a hint ... it's me! My name is Chloe, and I'm looking for a furever home that has a lifetime supply of belly rubs, sunny patches for naps, and fancy dog treats.Aside from being adorable, I am also deaf, so I'm most comfortable when people approach me from the front so I can see them coming. Like anyone else, I'm not a big fan of having anybody sneak up behind me! I LOVE to be with people and will happily spend the day by your side (especially if you're good at giving belly rubs). I don't mind other dogs, but I would also be fine as an only pup getting your love all to myself. I will need eye ointment twice a day, but I really enjoy having it applied! I do well on a leash for walks, but prefer not to be in a crate -- I'll wait for you to come home from any outing by napping on the couch instead. Toys aren't really my thing, but I will NEVER say no to a good treat! So, if you find yourself with extra love to give, you should come and take me home. I'll take all the love you've got!If you'd like to take me home, please fill out an adoption application at this website - https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application - and choose me, Chloe! My adoption fee is $150 and AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. We've been checked by a veterinarian, and we're up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We've been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we've started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!
