This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. She prefers to do things on her own terms and doesn’t hesitate to show you when she doesn’t like something. Bailey hasn’t gotten into anything she shouldn’t in her foster home, likes to go for walks and does well on leash, and is an expert snuggler. She seems house trained and doesn’t ask for very much. All this old broad needs is a soft place to land and live out her life. Being crated is beneath her, but she is pretty house-trained if she’s let out often. She sleeps soundly through the night, most happy in a bed or on the couch. Treats can be used as bribes. Chiquita comes from an Amish farm, she came to bring joy to our lives when she was barely 10 weeks old. She has 13 years of life and 13 years in our home, today unfortunately because of our pace of life both at work and now with 2 children a newborn has been difficult for her we have gone through many changes that have her tense and we are looking for a home that gives her the attention that we can no longer give her since we work late and it is difficult to dedicate time to her. She is a very sweet and loving girl. She doesn't like being alone, she's playful. She knows some techniques such as turning, giving the paw but she likes to be rewarded with croquettes.

Hi there! I’m Patches! I’m a sweet, funny little guy with the most expressive big brown eyes and a heart full of love to give. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was a bit unsure and scared. But after a day or so, I realized I was in a safe, warm place, and I started paying more attention to everything around me. Now, I love exploring, playing, and being part of the daily routine. I’m very food-motivated and have an excellent appetite, which makes me easy to win over with a tasty treat. I also really enjoy snuggling up with my humans after a little playtime. Sometimes, I get nervous about being picked up or leashed the wrong way, so I’ll need someone who can be gentle and patient with me as I learn to trust. My foster family discovered that letting me wear a slip leash for a while helped me feel more comfortable—it’s all about building trust with me, one step at a time. I have some challenges with my back legs, and I stumble a bit when I walk. I also have a unique way of going potty due to my hind leg weakness, but my foster family will share all the details to make sure you’re ready to help me thrive. My ideal home would have an adult (or two!) who can understand my fears and my physical needs. A mostly carpeted home would be perfect—it helps me feel more stable when I walk. I’m okay with other dogs, but I mostly keep to myself, so I don’t mind being your one-and-only or sharing with a calm furry friend. If you’re someone who can offer me patience, love, and a cozy place to call home, I promise I’ll reward you with so much affection and gratitude.
