Story
BONDED PAIR ALERT! Meet Abby and her sister Penny—two gentle souls who came into foster care after their owner could no longer care for them. Abby is a sweet girl nearing 9 years old who absolutely adores human attention. With her big, soulful eyes, she’ll gently beg for pets and affection. Abby has some hearing loss and arthritis in her front legs, and both girls have some mobility challenges in their back legs and hips. They are not "leash wakers" and will need a fenced in yard to keep them safe outside, this is a MUST. Penny came to us with serious eye infections and ultimately had one eye removed, but she’s thriving now! She’s a calm, loving companion who enjoys relaxing in a cozy bed or snuggling in a warm lap. Nervous at first and it will take her a bit to warm up and trust, but she is a real sweetheart. These two are incredibly laid-back and gentle. They’re up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and do well with other dogs and cats. They’re fine around children, but due to Penny’s blindness and their startle reflexes, a quieter, adult-only home with fenced yard would be ideal. Abby and Penny have been with their foster family for over nine months and fit right in with the other household pets. The two share a large crate/X-pen with a soft dog bed and are perfectly content. They sleep through the night and spend much of their day napping together. Abby still loves to play with toys and will bring a smile to your face daily, while Penny prefers a quiet place to rest. These girls are looking for a peaceful home where they can enjoy their golden years together. We are searching for a truly special home for this sweet, bonded pair—someone who understands their unique needs and is ready to give them the love they deserve. They must be adopted together, as they have always been together and rely on each other. They are not "leash wakers" and  must have a fenced in yard.  Both girls will require ongoing pain medication and joint supplements for the rest of their lives, as well as regular blood work to monitor the effects of the medication on their kidneys. Despite their medical needs, they remain mobile and enjoy going outside for potty breaks— then taking a relaxed stroll around the yard before settling in for a cozy nap indoors. They are part of the PAP LOVS/Senior Program, which includes a special adoption contract. Paws Across Pittsburgh will continue to cover certain veterinary expenses and medication costs. These lovely senior ladies are full of sweetness and are simply looking for a forever home with a compassionate family to live out their lives. ##2191386##

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Luffy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey hey all you fabulous people out there. My name is Luffy and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I is a real sweetheart, adorable and playful year-old pup coming in at about 16lbs that is an on the go and energetic. I is sure to win over your heart with my charming ways and playful personality. I is ready to start this next chapter in life with lots of puppy kisses, tail wags and playtime with my new family!! I has a lot of energy and playfulness that makes me the perfect companion for lots of adventures, everything from the mundane daily to your weekend exciting. I do great with the other foster pups here but would do just fine getting ALL the attention as your one and only. I would probably do best in an adult only home or with older kiddos (10+), as sometimes I can play kinda rough. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting any of those creatures y'all call a cat. I do great with people and my dream is an active family that would love to have a tag-a-long to share in all the joys of hanging your head out the car window, going on sniffaries or sleeping on the ground on camping trips. I am up to trying them all...and having a blast doing them with you! I am crate trained but still working on the house training so I will need continued encouragement. I so love sleeping in bed, of course...snuggled up to you but I sometimes need to go out to potty thru the night. I seem to have a larger dome head and although it hasn't been confirmed, the vets seem to think I could possibly have hydrocephalus which is a condition where an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) inside the skull causes the brain to swell and increase pressure. There are some treatment options that vary depending on the cause and severity of hydrocephalus, but may include medication to reduce fluid production, surgical shunting to drain the excess fluid, or in severe cases, palliative care. Some breeds like the chihuahua naturally have a dome shaped head and don't always indicate a problem. This doesn't seem to affect my sweet personality and I'm just a happy happy boy that is ready to live life to the fullest! There just isn't anything like the pure pleasure I feel when I catch a glimpse of you from across the yard, if I happen to get that far away! You can see it on my lil face and in my body, I am so darn happy to see you even if it was just 2 seconds ago! I am definitely a shadow pup, even when the sun is hiding behind clouds, sticking close and following you...everywhere!! I am sooooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness on a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet or maybe preferably on your lap, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for you and your lifestyle, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! It can be found at haydudeequine.org
