Story
Hello, I`m Maddie, a senior lady with a heart full of love. I may be older but I still have plenty of goofy energy. I love to take walks, play with toys, and make people laugh with my silly antics. I`m sweet and cuddly, a perfect companion for quiet evenings. I`m a little shy and change can make me anxious, so it might take me a bit to settle in. But once I do, I promise to be your most loyal friend. I enjoy lots of pets, ear rubs, and snuggling on a lap. I do really well sleeping alone in my comfy bed in my kennel and sometimes like to just lay there and watch things happen from my quiet little nest. Please just let me be when I am in my kennel. It is my safe space and I will come out on my own when I am ready I get grumpy if you try to get me out of bed before I`m ready. A girl has got to get her beauty sleep! I may not be the youngest, but I still have a lot of love to give. I`m looking for a forever home where I can spend my golden years. I enjoy a quiet and mellow home. No young children for me but older children that would respect my boundaries would be fine as long as there isn`t too much noise and excitement in the house. I would do well with other laid back dogs but would also enjoy being the center of your world as an only pup. I just want someone to love and a safe home for the rest of my days, BUT NO apartments. Adopting me means gaining a best friend who will cherish every moment with you. To meet me fill out the application on OFOSA.ORG and my foster mom will be in contact. My adoption fee is $280. for a spayed, up to date, microchipped pup to call your own.

Story
Lars, our 10 year old 14 pound ShihTzu, is back with us at Stumptown after being adopted out. He didn't like the cats in his adoptive home. As Lars really liked the cats in his foster home, we can't help but blame the cats. What were they up to? Regardless, Lars needs another chance at his forever! Lars was found stray and the shelter asked us to help. He had several teeth that needed to be extracted and a couple of pesky testicles that needed to go. Lars is recovered from his surgery and thriving. Snacks always taste better with clean teeth. Our Lars is an easy keeper. He is very friendly and loves attention, snuggling, squeaky toys and naps. Lars has picked up a charming trick where he stands on his hind feet and waves his front feet in the air to beg for pets. Irresistible. Lars is a fan of walks and struts handsomely on a leash. He has been great with dogs of all sizes and with selective cats (maybe he'd prefer not to live with them). Lars is house trained and he can be trusted to be left alone. That is, as long as his home is dog proof. Although he's technically a senior, Lars can jump like a puppy and will happily look around a counter for leftovers. Lars does well with older children. Because he passionately defends tasty trash or bags of treats if he successfully steals them, we don't think Lars should live with small kids. Lars otherwise does not resource guard. Lars excels at letting people know if there is anyone outside the door. For this reason, living in an apartment with a busy shared hallway may not be the best fit. Besides his zest for trash and telling the neighbors to "get off his lawn", Lars is a perfect housemate. Lars is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. Think you have room on your lap for Lars? Tired of delivery people sneaking up on you? Have your garbage safely locked up? Then apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org

If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out the application at www.woodscreekrescue.com. Filling out the application is not a commitment to an adoption and needs to be done prior to any further questions you might have or information you are seeking. Our Process is the following: 1. Fill out an application 2. Once the application is approved, you will be called or emailed about setting up a day and time to meet me. 3. After a "Meet and Greet" then a decision for both the rescue and you will determine if this is a good match. After this is determined, we will schedule a home check which can be the day of adoption depending on how things go. Want to see more of me? Check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.
