***REMINDER:  Please read the bio requirements and only fill in the application if you can meet ALL requirements. Due to the number of applications being received for each dog, we are only able to contact the applicants who have met ALL the listed Requirements*** Name/Tag#: April 4424 Age: 5 years old Sex/Altered: Female/ Spayed Weight: 14 lbs Breed: Shih Tzu Foster Home Location:  OTTAWA, ON Adoption Fee: $750.00 Temperament: Happy, goofy, smart Activity/Energy Level: High Up to date on Shots: Y,es, plus dental done Housebroken: she is doing exceptionally well, very rare accidents Crate Trained: No Ok with Dogs: Yes, she loves playing with similar size dogs Ok with Cats:  Unknown Ok with Kids: Unknown, dog savvy kids 8 years and older should be fine Origin: Puppy Mill Release Requirements: Securely fenced yard, companion dog in home, minimal alone time, experienced owner- mill experience an asset   And now, a few words from me: I spent the first five years of my life in a mass breeding facility, where I was used and abused, and never got to be myself or enjoy life. Now I see that there are so many things to discover in this new world. There are things to sniff, things to lick, things to chew, and things to play with. It turns out that I really LOVE toys. I am also a big fan of zooming around the backyard and eating really good meals. Sometimes new things can feel a little scary, but exploring and learning can be really fun too. More than anything, I dream of having a forever family of my very own and a place where I can keep learning, playing, and just be the happy, goofy dog that I’m meant to be. If you’ve got a little patience, a lot of love, and maybe a toy or two, then I think we could be something pretty special together.   And now, a few words from my foster mom: Despite all of the hardships that April has endured in her early life, her gentle spirit shines through. She is incredibly smart, observant, and quietly brave. She is constantly watching and learning, and is already starting to respond to her name. She loves simple pleasures that she was previously denied, such as running freely in the yard, playing with squeaky toys, socializing with our dogs, and even curling up to watch TV (very attentively I might add). People still make her nervous, but there is something beautiful about the way she leans in with curiosity, wanting to trust. Her love of food and eagerness to learn have already helped her take small, but meaningful, steps forward. All she needs is someone with the love and patience to reassure her and show her that she is safe. April would greatly benefit from a confident canine companion to guide her as she continues to come out of her shell. In the right home, she will eventually blossom into the happy, loyal companion that she was always meant to be. After everything she’s been through, April deserves to be in a safe home with a family that truly loves her for the rest of her life. Questions? Story
Romeo, Romeo, where art thou, Romeo? If you're searching for a handsome little guy to steal your heart, look no further! Romeo is a neutered male Shih Tzu with a sweet disposition to match his charming name. Romeo has a few health needs that require special care. He has allergies, which are managed with daily medication and a vegetarian diet. Since starting this routine, his skin has greatly improved, and we've even been able to reduce the frequency of his medicated baths. Romeo also has dry eye and will need daily eye drops long-term to keep him comfortable. This sweet boy enjoys walks, making friends with calm dogs, and sharing quality cuddle time. Once he's had his exercise, Romeo's ideal afternoon involves lounging on the couch next to his favorite human. Romeo needs a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time. He requires a muzzle for applying topical medications until a bond of trust is established. With consistent, gentle care, Romeo will flourish into the loving companion he's meant to be. Romeo is looking for a dedicated and peaceful home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by love and comfort. Could that be with you? Romeo has a few health needs that require special care. Story
This sweet dog sees with their heart and has so much love to give! Benji may not see with his eyes, but his other senses are on overdrive! He'll recognize you instantly by the sound of your voice and the unique scent of your hugs. This loving 2 year old Shhtzu mix is the most resilient, heart-filled pup you'll ever meet. He lost his eyes due to an untreated disease. But those days are behind him and now he has had vet treatment and is healthy, neutered and microchipped. From his wagging tail that never stops to his impressive "mapping" skills around the house, Benji is loving his foster siblings and home. His joy is unmatched, and he’ll bring you endless laughter and snuggles. He navigates his world with trust and confidence, reminding everyone around him to live in the moment. Blind dogs adapt quickly to a consistent and loving home. In return, the bond you build is an unbreakable connection built on pure trust. We have placed many blind dogs and are happy to connect you with other families for tips and support. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who will love you unconditionally, Benji is the one for you. Our preference is for a home with a fenced yard and another dog to help Benji learn the ropes. Please email us at c4ptoronto@gmail.com for an application and information.

Even though our start was uncertain, we were lucky that kind rescuers found us just in time and brought us to safety. Now I’m healthy, cared for, and ready to begin a bright new chapter with a loving family who will give me the life every puppy deserves.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutering to be scheduled soon   MY PERSONALITY I’m the only boy among my siblings! I’m a curious little boy who loves exploring the world and showing off my zoomies around the care facility yard. I might be a tiny bit shy at first, but I warm up very quickly. Once I do, I’ll happily follow you around, hoping for pets, treats, and a little extra attention.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a little shy at first, but I warm up very quickly. I love receiving gentle pets and tasty treats, and once I feel comfortable, my sweet personality really shines. I also allow myself to be picked up and enjoy being close to my people. · With Dogs: I’m friendly with my dog friends and enjoy greeting new dogs and playing together. I love making new canine companions and sharing fun moments during playtime. I generally get along best with dogs my size or larger.   · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and love exploring the world with my curious puppy spirit. There are so many new sights and smells to discover! Once I’ve had my little adventure and satisfied my curiosity, I’m more than happy to settle down and snuggle up for some cozy downtime. I’m an easygoing pup who doesn’t ask for much—just a bit of exploration and plenty of love.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m still learning my leash manners and getting better every day. I’m eager to learn and just need a little guidance as I continue practicing. I have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals from people or other dogs. I might bark occasionally when I’m hoping for some attention, but I calm down quickly once I’m settled. I’m also working on being more patient and relaxed in my kennel, and I’m doing well with my potty routine—I can use both indoor pee pads and go outdoors too.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding that I’m a young pup and will need continued guidance in socialization and basic obedience training   SPECIAL NOTES Volunteers and staff often say they can see the adorable little pug in my face! I’m super tiny and even more charming in real life—photos really don’t do justice to how cute I am. My sweet expressions and tiny features tend to melt hearts wherever I go. I’m also a curious little pup who’s excited to explore the world, and everyone says I have so much potential to grow into a wonderful companion.     Coke's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2684221##
