This loving girl is looking for her forever home! Tilly was raised as a mill dog in a barn environment and was subsequently surrendered to Animalert. She displays a shy, timid, and reserved demeanor. Tilly enjoys participating in outdoor activities, taking short car rides, and engaging with small toys that produce squeaky and crinkly sounds. Additionally, she has a preference for crunchy raw vegetables. However, Tilly demonstrates apprehension when it comes to grooming, walking on a leash, interacting with large dogs, and responding to loud or sudden noises, including thunderstorms. Her diet consists of small dog kibble supplemented with a portion of wet food served twice daily. Tilly is crate trained and can sleep through the night without incidents, although she requires encouragement to enter the crate voluntarily. She has a partial understanding of house training and necessitates outdoor access every two to three hours. If outdoor access is delayed, she may relieve herself indoors, typically on a designated pee pad. With a low energy level, Tilly enjoys following her owner and does not require extended walks; she finds contentment in play within a securely enclosed backyard. Tilly would thrive in a quiet household environment. While she may benefit from the companionship of another small dog, the presence of large dogs is discouraged. Her ideal owner must be available to facilitate regular outdoor excursions throughout the day. A securely fenced yard is essential, as Tilly has a tendency to wander. She enjoys human interaction and will cuddle when placed on a lap, but does not independently seek to leap onto a person’s lap. It is important to note that Tilly may exhibit destructive behavior by chewing on cords, chargers, socks, and tissues if left unsupervised. Tilly requires time to acclimate to new environments and individuals; nevertheless, she has shown considerable progress since her arrival. Initially, she was unfamiliar with grass, carpeting, smooth floors, and stairs, and she continues to face challenges with ascending more than two or three steps. Despite these challenges, she is a quick learner and has the potential to become an excellent companion. Tilly has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, Dental & Heartworm tested, and additionally, Tilly has been on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $750.00, which includesher health records!
