Story
HI, my name is Blu! I was brought to the shelter in November of 2025. I am a super friendly, very energetic mixed breed and love toys, treats, people, and other dogs. I do ok with cats, too. I like kids, but I am a whole lot of dog in a small package and might do better with older children only. I may look small and cuddly (and I do like to cuddle), but I have some serious kick! I know what I want, and I love to figure out how I can get it! I would be a great dog to teach lots of cool stuff too, or if you are used to larger dogs with lots of energy and drive but now want a smaller dog. I have a big personality, and sometimes forget I don't have to run the show for things to work out. I will need an owner who can give me clear structure and show me it's ok to follow the leader sometimes. I think I would like to go to an owner who has experience training dogs, or who is willing to learn. I would be a great learning partner! I have problems sharing sometimes, so I recently learned how to trade and 'out' things- I'm doing pretty good if I do say so myself! Because of the breed insticts I have, I also have trouble with reacting to movement or things out of place on walks. I am learning that barking and pulling is not polite, and whoever is walking me will look out for me so I don't have to. I am learning lots here, but would really like my own place to learn more. I can't wait to meet you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Topaz has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  March 8, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bijou Bijou is a sweet little soul with a playful, goofy side that will absolutely make you smile. She’s the perfect mix of chill companion and quiet entertainer—happy to lounge nearby, soak up a sunny spot, or enjoy a treat (or two!) with her favorite person close by. Bijou enjoys being near her person and has a gentle, comforting presence. She loves her cozy bed and sunny lounging spots, and while she’s still learning to fully relax into affection, she’s already beginning to show how much she enjoys quiet companionship. As her confidence grows, so will her ability to connect and trust. Like many puppy mill survivors, Bijou is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she forms a deep and loyal bond. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and benefits from calm, respectful companions who help her feel secure. Bijou is making progress with her routine and will continue to thrive with consistency and encouragement. She’s a wonderful candidate for someone who finds joy in watching a dog blossom and gain confidence over time. Bijou does have dry eye, which is fairly common in the breed and easily managed with daily eye drops. While she’s still getting used to her care routine, she does best with a patient, gentle approach and continues to improve with consistency. Bijou would do best in a quieter home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. A securely fenced yard and another calm, friendly dog companion will help her feel safe and supported. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion and the incredibly rewarding experience of helping a dog truly come into her own, Bijou may be your perfect match. Bijou’s adoption donation is $450, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Bijou has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaning. She’s now ready to begin her next chapter in a loving forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Edwin – Your Little Shadow with a Big Heart Edwin is a sweet black Shih Tzu who’s all about the simple joys in life—cuddles, toys, and being close to his people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily follow you from room to room and soak up every bit of attention, Edwin is your guy. He has a playful side and truly enjoys the company of other dogs, especially when it’s time for a little fun. That said, he may also do well as an only dog, as long as he has opportunities for social time—whether that’s playdates or plenty of interaction with his people. Edwin’s energy level is low to moderate, making him a great fit for a home that enjoys both relaxed downtime and a bit of light play. Edwin does best in a home where he can enjoy plenty of companionship and time with his people. While he may take a little time to settle when left alone, he adjusts with routine and reassurance. He’s happiest when included in daily life and will quickly become your loyal little sidekick, always ready to be nearby and part of whatever you’re doing. He does well with other dogs, cats, and children over 8. Edwin does well with house training when kept on a consistent schedule, though he does not currently signal when he needs to go out, so his family will need to stay attentive to his routine. Edwin has a few simple daily care routines to help keep him feeling his best, including heart medication, a supplement, and eye drops. He handles his routine like a pro and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit! With a committed family to keep him on track, Edwin will continue to thrive and be the happy, loving companion he’s meant to be. His perfect home is one filled with love, cozy cuddle time, and just enough play to keep his tail wagging. If you’re ready to open your heart to a devoted little companion, Edwin is ready to give you his whole heart in return. Edwin’s adoption donation is $500, and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home—he has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.☕ Mocha – Your Loyal Little Shadow Meet this sweet little guy ☕ Mocha is an adorable boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. Once he feels safe, he’s all about toys, snuggles, and being your loyal little companion. He thrives on routine and does wonderfully when he knows what to expect. Mocha is crate trained, leash trained and has the cutest bedtime routine—he settles into his cozy crate with his blanket and his favorite “baby,” gets tucked in, and sleeps peacefully through the night. He enjoys a moderate activity level and benefits from an engaged home that can provide both structure and interaction throughout the day, balanced with plenty of cuddle time. Like many sensitive pups, Mocha can feel unsure in new situations or when meeting new people. When he’s nervous, he may bark or put on a “tough guy” act—but it’s all talk. With patience, reassurance, and calm, consistent introductions, he quickly learns that he’s safe and loved. Mocha is still a young, active little dog who enjoys being close to his people and can be underfoot at times. For this reason, he will do best in a home where his adopter is steady on their feet and comfortable managing an active small dog in the home. Mocha is looking for an experienced, patient adopter who can continue building his confidence and helping him navigate the world at his own pace. He would do best in a quieter home environment, ideally with another calm, well-adjusted dog to help guide him and continue his progress. Because of his sensitive nature, he would do best in a home with older, respectful children and a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and build confidence. He does well on a consistent schedule for meals and potty breaks. While he may not always signal when he needs to go out, he thrives with routine and structure. At heart, Mocha is truly a “little baby”—he just wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. In return, you’ll gain a deeply devoted companion who will be right by your side for all of life’s quiet, cozy moments. Mocha’s adoption donation is $550, and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home—he has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. He has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buttons — a devoted little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart We don’t believe Buttons had the best start in life, but what truly defines him is how far he’s come. With patience, consistency, and extensive professional training at the Zoom Room, Buttons has been a dedicated and enthusiastic student who has made truly amazing progress. His foster family and trainers alike are incredibly proud of the confident, capable dog he continues to become. Buttons is a Shih Tzu who loves life’s simple pleasures: car rides, relaxed walks, and hot dogs, which are absolutely his favorite treat. He enjoys spending time with his people and thrives with clear communication, calm leadership, and predictable routines. Buttons builds trust thoughtfully and at his own pace, and once he feels safe, he is deeply loyal and affectionate. He also handles grooming beautifully and does great with Miss Lisa—taking his baths like a champ and even handing out kisses during grooming sessions. It’s a wonderful example of how well he does when he feels safe and supported. Buttons does best with experienced adopters who understand reactive dogs and appreciate the value of continued structure and positive reinforcement. He feels most comfortable in a calm, adult-only home where his boundaries are respected and expectations are clear. A peaceful, predictable environment helps him remain confident and successful. During thunderstorms or fireworks, Buttons may seek comfort and reassurance, often happily curling up in your lap. He requires regular eye drops as part of his daily care and takes them like a champ. Buttons is not the right fit for every home—but for the right person, he will be an incredibly rewarding companion. With patience, understanding, and the skills he’s worked so hard to develop, Buttons is ready to continue thriving in a loving forever home. Buttons’s adoption donation is $425, and he is being fostered in the Central Ohio area. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.
