Story
ABOUT ME... Hi! My name is Rubie Grace! I came from an awful place called a puppy mill. :( Now I'm at a place called a foster home!! It's sooo nice here!! I have lots of dog and cat siblings here. They even have a parrot!! I'm learning how to be a dog here. I love my cozy bed!! (I even share it!) There's lots of toys too, that I'm learning to play with! My foster family gives me something called treats!!! They are so yummy! I'll "sit pretty for them!! I'm very food motivated. Dad makes something special called spaghetti, just for us fur kids, it gives me the zoomies because it's so tasty!!! I AM GREAT WITH... I'm great with all of my fur siblings, but the kittys smell funny!! Still not sure what to think about the bird! I love the kids too! They're teaching me to go outside with everyone to potty. I really like that! They give me treats, cuddles, and lots of love! I know my name now, so I run to them when they hollar for Rubie!!!! I AM STILL WORKING ON... I'm still working on going potty outside, but if I can't make it, Mom and Dad have potty pads for me to use!! We've been working on using the leash also, but it scares me. I don't really like it when my crate is closed, but I do settle down. Mom says I'm doing great at "learning to be a dog I'm still skittish about things around the house, so please be patient with me!!! I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I'm still getting used to loud noises, and sudden movements. It's kinda scary, but everyone tries to make me feel better!! I REQUIRE... My family says I must have a fenced in yard. I think that's a good thing, cause I'm still scared of some stuff. I really like exploring our backyard yard, and my mom and dad don't worry as much because I can't leave our yard! Mom says until I get used to the leash, (we've been working with it in the backyard!) a harness would be best for me!! It scares me a little when we put it on, but I'm ok with it!!! *** SIDE NOTE FROM MY FAMILY Rubie Grace is an amazing lil lady. She has come so far, in the short time we've had her!! She has a wonderful personality!! _________________________________________________ **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Olivia’s adoption donation is $500 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  She has also had a dental cleaning. Olivia requires a home with a companion dog of similar size/energy and a secure, physically fenced yard. Olivia is a mill mom who is just the sweetest girl. She is a little shy but once she warms up to you, she will be your best friend! She loves her person but also loves to be alone and sleep on her foster mom’s bed. She is LOVES treats and will eat all her foster sisters  treats if she could. She likes toys and loves to bring them to bed with her. She will need a patient home as she is working on mastering the art of potty training. She is still shy of the “outside world’ so leash walking is a little scary. Olivia definitely needs to have a fur-sibling of similar size and energy to learn all the dog things from. She is such a sweet girl and just wants to be loved! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  November 19, 2024, 7:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chancey's adoption donation is $350 and he is being fostered in Mansfield, Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning with some extractions but has recovered well. Chancey came into rescue through no fault of his own when his owner was no longer able to care for him. He’s a mature boy that loves food (including fruits & vegetables), riding in the car, his person, porch sitting and cuddling. Chancey does fairly well on housetraining in his foster home and should continue to do so if kept on a schedule. He prefers to sleep in your bed, but will sleep elsewhere. Chancey vocalizes when he wants something as well as when he doesn't like something. Due to the volume of Chancey’s sass, he is not a candidate for apartment living. He loves attention from people and he would love a quiet home with no children under the age of 10-12. He currently lives with another low energy dog but has very little interaction. Chancey would do well as an only dog. He is on medications for arthritis pain. It is difficult for Chancey to climb stairs due to the arthritis.  A ranch style home would be ideal for him.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Anya's adoption donation is $475 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  Anya has also had a dental cleaning.   Anya came into rescue through no fault of her own.  She is working on her potty manners and does well if kept on a schedule.  She came in with a UTI, and she has recovered from that and is finishing up her special food before going back to regular food.  She is very fond of going for walks and has very good leash manners. Anya really likes to hang out with her people and might express her opinion with a little harumph if she isn't done hanging out with you when you need to get up.  She has adapted well in foster care, enjoys being brushed during her lap time, and likes toys. She also likes to "talk" to dogs and other animals on T.V. when she sees them!  Anya gets along with the other pups in her foster home and does well in a multi-dog home.  She would prefer a more quiet, calm home than one with a lot of noise.  This girl is full of love and ready to find her new family! He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning. Hayes came into rescue from a puppy mill with the typical mill behaviors:  Afraid of people, especially men, panicked at sudden sounds or movements, especially in his direction.  Today, he tends to run towards people, plays with toys, looks out the windows, the patio and the screened porch, and likes to be chased.  He likes to carry his toys around with him, and so he will help with the laundry if you drop any clothes on the floor!  He has also turned into quite the power walker, and enjoys walks, setting a brisk pace, and will do his business.  Housetraining is most successful when he is kept on a schedule.  He will need a fenced yard.  He also may need medicated baths to limit yeast growth.   The perfect home for Hayes will have patient humans, and a companion dog who is easy-going, will take him on walks, and make sure he has lots of toys.  He has come so far.  Does your pack have room for this little guy?  He sure hopes so!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
