Interested in two small fluffy senior dogs? Meet Bessie Boo and her 'sister' Daisy Mae, our maltese/shih tzu mixes. They lost the only home they've ever known when their owner passed away and are looking for a new retirement home where they can stay together. We dont know if they are actually sisters but they are both 11 years old. Bessie is a black and white ball of fluff and is the larger of the two at 11 lbs. She will not sleep or eat without her motherly Daisy Mae. They will curl up together with a bed and blanket or sleep in your bed if allowed. Bessie is quiet but will talk to you if you talk to her. She does snore softly. So cute!Bessie loves being a lap baby and enjoys stretching out on the back of the couch. Larger dogs scare her but she is fine with small dogs and pays no mind to the vets cat. If you tell her go potty she will go outside with you. Both are used to living with a woman, but have no problems with getting attention from men. They have been around older children but not toddlers. These two have a very special bond and have touched our hearts. We really want to keep them together, so if you have room for two tiny quiet girls, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Yoshi is a true gem - a gentle, lovable senior who has lifelong unconditional love to give. Yoshi is a small Shih Tzu and is approximately 11 years old. He is slowing down a bit... some would say that he is as slow as a snail! Yoshi is blind so he needs to be carried because he cannot see where he is going...he must be transported around the house and to his food, outside and to bed. His world is a little dark, and he needs his human to guide him to where he needs to go. He has had surgery on his teeth, leaving only a few good teeth in his mouth, so soft food is a must for him. He will also need eye drops daily, morning and night for dry eye. His eyes also will need to be wiped daily. Although Yoshi will require some special care, he will definitely show you his appreciation with his constant companionship. Yoshi is the ultimate lapdog that is very loving, loyal, sweet and trustworthy. He loves other dogs and cats, and he is great with kids too! Even though he does love other dogs, he does not like them around his food while he is eating, so his human will need to be aware of his food protection. Yoshi will melt your heart with his slow movements, gentle nature, and love for cuddling and affection. He is incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than being around his people. Yoshi absolutely loves to cuddle in bed with you and will stay there all day waiting for you to come get him! Yoshi's heart belongs to his humans, and he must sleep in bed with you, so if you are not willing to share your bed, Yoshi may not be the dog for you. There is no playing with toys or going on walks for Yoshi, those days are behind him! Now he just longs for getting carried around and loved on. He doesn't need much outside of his daily eye drops, soft food, and some extra care. Yoshi is house trained and has been very reliable while in foster care, so you can count on him to do his potty business outside. He is a true easygoing old man who just wants love and attention. Yoshi is a special boy who will thrive in a loving home where he can be pampered and cared for in his golden years. He's gentle and loving and deserves just the same in return. He may be an ancient baby, but he has a heart full of love and a soul that just wants to be close to his family. If you are the perfect human to give Yoshi the care and love he needs, go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/ adopt to apply! His adoption fee is $160 and he is UTD on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

Story
Mama Joan and her babies got off to a rough start. This family was passed through a couple of homes before they were surrendered to Rico with Parvo. They were all treated, and they all recovered!Joan weighs 18 lbs and her estimated age is about 3 years old. Joan is crate-trained, gets along with the foster's resident dogs and seems to have been loved by someone at one time. She would love her own human to snuggle with on the couch and live her best life! Joan is especially fond of women. Joan LOVES her puppies and was the perfect protective Mama as she was passed through homes and treated at vets. Joan has attached herself to her foster mom so we know that she can form meaningful attachments with people. Joan is very friendly and just wants to be near her people. When Joan was placed on a trial adoption, it became evident that she was extremely attached to her puppies and would not do well separated from all of them. Therefore, Rico would prefer for Joan to be adopted together with her daughter, Sylvia.Sylvia is tiny (8.5 lbs.), and very agile. She has made progress trusting humans; however, she still has a way to go. Sylvia initially squirmed away from her fosters as far as she could go and would not take food from their hands. Now she checks each finger for a treat, curls up next to her fosters to sleep on the couch, plays with her fosters, and lets her fosters rub her belly or scratch her back. Sylvia is not a fan of being picked up, but she will tolerate it since she knows a treat will follow. Her date of birth is 12.7.24.Both Joan and Sylvia are making great progress at potty training with scheduled potty times outside and a pocketful of treats. Both dogs make eye contact with their foster mom to make sure she is watching while they do their business and then run to her for a treat after.A fence is a must for these pups. They are not comfortable going potty while on leash. These pups would be the perfect addition to the right home. Until then, her foster parents will love them to pieces. You can apply to meet Joan and her daughter Sylvia at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
Sylvia (brindle pug mix) is hanging with her fosters while she waits for the perfect home that will meet her where she is at. Sylvia, her Mama, and siblings got off to a rough start. This family was passed through a couple of homes before they were surrendered to Rico with Parvo. Sylvia was the only pup not diagnosed with Parvo, but she was treated anyway since it was just a matter of time before she also would have parvo.Sylvia is tiny (8.5 lbs.), and very agile. She has made progress trusting humans; however, she still has a way to go. Sylvia initially squirmed away from her fosters as far as she could go and would not take food from their hands. Sylvia is not a fan of being picked up, but she will tolerate it since she knows a treat will follow. Her date of birth is 12.7.24.It would probably be best for Sylvia to be adopted with her Mama (Joan). Joan weighs in at 18 lbs and is especially fond of women. Joan LOVES her puppies and was the perfect protective Mama as she was passed through homes and treated at vets. Joan has attached herself to her foster mom so we know that she can form meaningful attachments with people. Joan's estimated age is about 3 years old. Both dogs make eye contact with their foster mom to make sure she is watching while they do their business and then run to her for a treat after.A fence is a must for these pups. A trial adoption for Joan taught her foster parents that she was too busy watching out for other people or animals to relax and potty while on leash. These pups would be the perfect addition to the right home. Until then, her foster parents will love them to pieces. You can apply to meet Sylvia and her mama, Joan at ricopetrecovery.org.

My foster mom says I have elegance about me. I am sweet and charming but a little shy at first. I like to play and I like to nap and I need my family to find me so I can shine! I really am a good boy and you would be happy you chose me!

Story
I adopted him from a shelter that won’t take him back due to full capacity. The woman who surrendered him said that the breeder gave him to her as a gift but could not maintain his grooming and hygiene (which I do). He is completely up to date on all his vaccinations and takes monthly flea/tick/ heartworm prevention. He is completely house broken and crate trained and sleeps through the night. His snoring is the cutest! He is very loyal and loves to be around people. He follows me everywhere and loves attention. He is wonderful in the car and loves the outdoors. He is energetic and loves to play with toys and play fetch. He would do best in a house without cats where he has plenty of room to play and explore. He loves his healthy dog treats and rawhide free bones. My daughter has many activities and I have a demanding job and he needs the attention that he deserves as a loyal companion. I have a 4 year old cat that he is not fond of and it is not getting better unfortunately
