Meet this adorable 3-year-old Shih Tzu boy with the sweetest personality and an endless love for attention. He is incredibly affectionate, loves being close to his people, and will happily roll over for belly rubs any chance he gets. His gentle, loving nature makes him an amazing companion for someone looking for a loyal little best friend. This special boy does have some medical needs. He has been diagnosed with a grade 4/6 heart murmur and an enlarged heart, so he will need ongoing veterinary care and will likely require heart medication to help keep him comfortable and healthy. Because of this, he is looking for a family that understands the commitment of caring for a dog with medical needs and is ready to give him all the love and support he deserves. Despite his diagnosis, he remains happy, sweet, and full of love to give. He is ready to spend his days soaking up cuddles, enjoying belly rubs, and being cherished by a family willing to open their heart to a dog who truly deserves it.

Story
HI, my name is Blu! I was brought to the shelter in November of 2025. I am a super friendly, very energetic mixed breed and love toys, treats, people, and other dogs. I do ok with cats, too. I like kids, but I am a whole lot of dog in a small package and might do better with older children only. I may look small and cuddly (and I do like to cuddle), but I have some serious kick! I know what I want, and I love to figure out how I can get it! I would be a great dog to teach lots of cool stuff too, or if you are used to larger dogs with lots of energy and drive but now want a smaller dog. I have a big personality, and sometimes forget I don't have to run the show for things to work out. I will need an owner who can give me clear structure and show me it's ok to follow the leader sometimes. I think I would like to go to an owner who has experience training dogs, or who is willing to learn. I would be a great learning partner! I have problems sharing sometimes, so I recently learned how to trade and 'out' things- I'm doing pretty good if I do say so myself! Because of the breed insticts I have, I also have trouble with reacting to movement or things out of place on walks. I am learning that barking and pulling is not polite, and whoever is walking me will look out for me so I don't have to. I am learning lots here, but would really like my own place to learn more. I can't wait to meet you!
