Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Finn! Finn came to Dash with his buddy Henry when their owner went into a nursing home and was unable to take them with her. Family did take them into their home, but their other animals were not fans, so into DASH they came. Finn is a distinguished older gentlemen at 9 years young. He is very laid back and enjoys just watching the shenanigans the other dogs in his foster home get into. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash and mostly potty trained if kept on a schedule. He loves being up in a lap or sleeping in bed with his person. This boy would make a great companion for a senior or a family with older kids just due to his age, younger kids may not be a great fit. He has not been cat tested. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 8:40 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing our little senior Shih Tzu Jack! This senior doggo came to DASH from a rural shelter in northern KY after he was found as a stray. He is blind, and can you imagine wandering outside in the winter and not being able to see anything! This guy is so sweet and so gentle, all he wants is a soft bed and blanket or a lap to hang out in, good food and he is content. We recommend a fenced in yard just so he can have a safe place to go out and potty and just hang out in the warmer weather if he wants. He would be ok with older respectful kids, and he gets along fine with the other dogs in his foster home. He has not been cat tested, but feel he would be fine with them as long as they give him his space. His ideal home would have minimal steps as he can navigate one or two steps, but more than that would be too much. He is really just ready to find his forever person to spend his golden years with being spoiled rotten. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 8:40 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Topaz has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  March 8, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lumi Lumi is a sweet, tender-hearted puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to live life just for herself. After spending her early years caring for others, she is now discovering what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family — and she’s making steady, heartwarming progress every day. Naturally gentle and a bit shy, Lumi can startle with sudden movements at first. But once she feels secure, she becomes a devoted little shadow who loves staying close to her person. In foster care, she has truly begun to blossom, even revealing a playful, slightly mischievous side when she feels comfortable and confident. Lumi thrives in the company of other dogs and gains confidence by watching and interacting with them. She loves playtime with her doggy pals, happily chews on toys and bones, enjoys snack time, and adores curling up for cozy naps — especially on the bed. A home with a confident companion dog would be ideal to help her continue building confidence and navigating the world. She is still learning household routines and does best with structure and consistency. Lumi has made encouraging progress with her potty habits and shows a genuine desire to “do the right thing” as she continues learning. Leashes, collars, being picked up, and cold weather can still feel a bit overwhelming, but with patience, gentle guidance, and time, she continues to grow braver and more trusting. Lumi would do best in a calm, patient home that understands the unique journey of a former puppy mill dog. Respectful children over 8 would be welcome, and a securely fenced yard is recommended to allow her to explore safely and confidently at her own pace. Lumi’s journey is just beginning. She is ready for a forever home where she can continue healing, building confidence, and finally being someone’s cherished girl. Lumi's adoption donation is $500, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buttons — a devoted little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart We don’t believe Buttons had the best start in life, but what truly defines him is how far he’s come. With patience, consistency, and extensive professional training at the Zoom Room, Buttons has been a dedicated and enthusiastic student who has made truly amazing progress. His foster family and trainers alike are incredibly proud of the confident, capable dog he continues to become. Buttons is a Shih Tzu who loves life’s simple pleasures: car rides, relaxed walks, and hot dogs, which are absolutely his favorite treat. He enjoys spending time with his people and thrives with clear communication, calm leadership, and predictable routines. Buttons builds trust thoughtfully and at his own pace, and once he feels safe, he is deeply loyal and affectionate. He also handles grooming beautifully and does great with Miss Lisa—taking his baths like a champ and even handing out kisses during grooming sessions. It’s a wonderful example of how well he does when he feels safe and supported. Buttons does best with experienced adopters who understand reactive dogs and appreciate the value of continued structure and positive reinforcement. He feels most comfortable in a calm, adult-only home where his boundaries are respected and expectations are clear. A peaceful, predictable environment helps him remain confident and successful. During thunderstorms or fireworks, Buttons may seek comfort and reassurance, often happily curling up in your lap. He requires regular eye drops as part of his daily care and takes them like a champ. Buttons is not the right fit for every home—but for the right person, he will be an incredibly rewarding companion. With patience, understanding, and the skills he’s worked so hard to develop, Buttons is ready to continue thriving in a loving forever home. Buttons’s adoption donation is $425, and he is being fostered in the Central Ohio area. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Noella — a beautiful little Shih Tzu with a gentle spirit and so much love to give. After spending part of her life as a puppy mill momma, this sweet girl is ready for the chance to finally enjoy the life she deserves: a home filled with patience, kindness, and the freedom to simply be cherished. Noella loves her people and truly wants to please. She is crate trained, does well with potty habits when given regular reminders, and especially enjoys having access to doggie doors. She is an intelligent girl who learns quickly and continues to gain confidence as she settles into home life. One of her favorite parts of the day is mealtime, and she never misses an opportunity to show a little enthusiasm when food is involved. She is a quiet, easygoing companion who rarely barks, usually only joining in when the other dogs do. Noella would love a home with a canine companion, as she enjoys having another dog nearby and benefits from that comfort and encouragement. While she has not quite figured out toys yet, that may come with time as she continues learning all the simple joys of being a dog. Noella can be cautious with new people at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet nature shines through. She rides well in the car, has basic manners, and has an even temperament that makes her a lovely fit for many home environments. Because of her gentle nature, older considerate children would be the best match. Most of all, Noella deserves a family willing to give her the time and reassurance to continue blossoming — and in return, she is ready to reward that love with quiet companionship and a loyal heart. Noella's adoption donation is $500, and she is being fostered in North Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella.
