Story
Meet Ace — a 2 year old, 7 lb Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix with an exceptional underbite and an even more exceptional personality! Quick Facts: Name: Ace Breed: Shih Tzu/Dachshund Mix Age: 2 year old Weight: 7 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested (but he’d happily do a meet and greet!) Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low to medium (playful and cuddly) Fence Required: No About Ace’s Breed: Our best guess is that Ace is a Shih Tzu/Dachshund mixed breed. Shih Tzu/Dachshund mixes — often called “Shiweenies” — are charming little dogs with big personalities. They tend to blend the Shih Tzu’s affectionate, people loving nature with the Dachshund’s playful, curious streak, creating a companion who’s both cuddly and fun. These mixes are usually friendly, adaptable, and happy to be part of whatever their humans are doing, whether that’s going for a walk or curling up on the couch. They thrive in homes where they get plenty of attention, gentle handling, and regular companionship. Because they’re small, social, and typically easygoing, they fit beautifully into many types of families — from active households to quieter homes looking for a loyal lap buddy. With their sweet temperaments and adorable looks, Shih Tzu/Dachshund mixes make wonderfully loving and versatile companions. What to Love about Ace: Ace is the perfect blend of fun and cuddly — he loves going on walks, exploring the neighborhood, and then settling right into your lap to watch TV. He warms up to people quickly, adores being held, and truly shines as a “fun lap dog” who’s always ready for affection! Ace is amazing with other dogs, including big ones, and has a calm, polite demeanor when passing dogs on walks. He’s totally potty trained and crate trained, and he has such great manners that he can be left alone without a crate! He doesn’t need a fenced yard, but he’d certainly enjoy one for extra sniffing and exploring. He hasn’t met cats yet, but he’s open to a meet and greet! He’s wonderful with people of all ages — kids included — and is a gentle, easygoing playmate who tends to be more on the submissive side with other dogs. Ace loves to play, but his favorite hobby is cuddling, whether that’s with you or a cozy blanket (though he definitely prefers you!). With his adorable charm, sweet temperament, and that unforgettable underbite, he’s the kind of pup who fits seamlessly into almost any family. If you’re looking for a loving, friendly, perfectly portable companion, Ace is ready to steal your heart! Ace’s Amazing Highlights: • 2 year old, 7 lb Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix with an unforgettable underbite • Amazing with all dogs — even big ones — and plays gently and politely • Total fun lap dog who loves walks and long cuddle sessions • Warms up to people quickly and loves being held • Completely potty trained and crate trained, with great manners when left loose • Doesn’t need a fenced yard but enjoys exploring and sniffing around outside • Wonderful with kids of all ages and friendly with everyone he meets • Calm and collected when passing other dogs on walks • Great on a leash and enjoys daily strolls • Playful, sweet, easygoing, and ready to fit into almost any family with his adorable charm Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Cream Puff embodies that classic lap-dog nature—soft, loving, and deeply attached to her humans and canine friends. Cream Puff’s Story & Personality: Cream Puff is a tender little lady who is still finding her footing as she settles into foster care. Her foster mom is gently working with her to feel more comfortable in new situations. She has a bit of separation anxiety right now and feels safest when she’s near her person or another dog. Despite her quirks and medical needs, her foster is completely smitten—describing her as “just the bee’s knees.” Cream Puff is a loving, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to feel safe, supported, and adored. Cream Puff’s Ideal Home: • An adult-only household • Another dog in the house to play with • A fenced yard to help her feel secure during potty training and transitions • A calm, patient adopter willing to continue confidence-building and training • Another friendly dog in the home, or a person who is home most of the time • An adopter comfortable managing lifelong cardiac medication Ready to Welcome a Little Lovebug with a Big Heart? Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: White Weight: 9.5 Age: 8yrs 4mths 0wks
