Story
I offered to help take care of Bonzai, over 2 years ago. His owner went to school with my son. She had an aneurysm and a stroke, at 30 years old. I wasnt expecting to keep him permanently. I asked for them to find someone in her family to help, but no one wants to. I told her that I cant do it anymore and Im trying to find a home for him. I was living in the country and had a husband, that helped out. Now were separated and will be divorced next month. I live alone. I work and Im gone most of the time. I help my daughters and grandkids out, a lot. Im going on more trips also. Bonzai wants a lot of attention and I cant give it. I spent almost $400 on shots, etc last year. I spent about $500 on him a couple of weeks ago. The family doesnt help me with the cost. Hes 14 years old. His back legs shake a little bit.(age) He has fatty tissue growth on his body. About 4 of them. Two of them are larger. Had blood work done. Theyre not cancerous. He walks and runs fine. Has a skin allergy

Story
10.5 years( 6/10/14)… lily is a “twin”… I would hope that she and her sister be adopted together. They are mellow and loving ladies. Always in good humor and ready to be scratched, hugged or just given a pat or two. I would love for them to be in a home with safe yard access, and with a person young or older who is mostly home… if the ladies must be separated it would be of benefit if there were another small/ mini dog in the home, basically because she has never lived alone.

Meet Zach – The Sweetest Scruffy Little Elf Looking for Love! Say hello to Zach, an adorable Shih Tzu and Jack Russell mix with the perfect blend of charm and cuddly vibes! Weighing just 11 pounds, Zach is a delightful little guy with a wiry coat and a heart full of love to share. At 6 years old, he’s reached that wonderful age where he’s calm, easygoing, and oh-so-ready to settle into his forever home. Zach’s story is one of love and loss. His devoted owner recently passed away, leaving him without a family to call his own. Fortunately, a kind foster stepped forward to care for him, and now Critter Cavalry Rescue is on the hunt for his perfect match. Zach is the ideal companion for just about anyone! He’s a low-maintenance, snuggly little guy with an easygoing personality. Whether you’re a retired individual or couple, a young family looking for a calm companion, or empty nesters ready for a travel buddy, Zach fits the bill. He’s a leash-walking pro, rides like a dream in the car, and gets along great with other dogs—perfect for families with pets or those who visit friends and family with furry companions. With his endearing scruffy look and semi-low-shedding coat, Zach is not just cute—he’s irresistibly charming. This little “elf on the shelf” is ready to bring love and joy to his new home, and we know the perfect match is out there waiting for him. Story
We believe Harper is around 3 to 4 years old as of December, 2024. She was dumped at a business dumpster at 3 am and was still standing there when workers arrived at their workplace. We had her examined at the Vet and she is blind. However, she doesn't require any medications right now for her eyes and she gets around the rescue like a champ. This girl has the best temperament and loves to be right with us. Cuddles are her favorite and she gets along great with other dogs here at the rescue. She is crate and house trained and does great loose in the house after she learns her new routine. We make a noise for her and she can find her way right back into the rescue after being let outside to potty. She also loves toys and balls. Harper was also around a 3 year old child in her foster home before she came to us. So, she should do well with any type of family. We just love her! She is spayed, current on shots, flea and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at RichardsonRescue.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2024, 2:36 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 11/14/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Rachel was found as a stray and landed at a NC shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rachel is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Rachel arrived in rescue with some of the worst teeth we've seen in a long time. She had a full mouth extraction and has joined our toothless wonders club. Rachel's fur still has some staining from licking with a very dirty mouth. Over time the cream color of her hair will return. Rachel requires a soft diet for the remainder of her life. Our best guess is that Rachel is some mix of Maltese, poodle and/or shih tzu. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic. Weight: 8.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, though a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me?  Rachel is an 11-year-old girl who was found as a stray in North Carolina before she arrived at CPR. Now, she’s searching for an adopter who understands the needs of a senior dog. Rachel thrives on quiet companionship—she’ll love nothing more than sitting in your lap soaking up your affection, napping in a sunbeam on the couch or chair, snacking on treats (but not too many!), going on leisurely strolls, and curling up in a warm, cozy dog bed (or better yet, your bed!) to sleep at night. Rachel is an absolutely charming girl who melts the hearts of everyone that meets her. Her sweet demeanor makes her the perfect companion for nearly any home—whether a house or apartment. She would do well with a single person, a couple, or a family. If there are children, they should be older, calmer, and more reserved, as Rachel prefers a quieter environment. The most important thing for Rachel is that her adopter is home most of the day to spend time with her. She’s a lap dog at heart, and she’ll always want a lap to sit in for cuddles and love. Rachel will thank you by smothering you in tiny kisses. What is my personality like? Say hello to Rachel, a sweet little old lady looking for a forever home where she can enjoy her Golden Years. This lovely senior has a huge heart and can’t wait to share all of her love with her new adopter(s). Loving and sweet, Rachel loves everyone she meets—canines, humans, even felines. Her heart is as big as they come, and she’s always ready to share the love. Rachel fits the adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks. "While she may not be interested in learning a lot of new tricks (after all, she’s an intelligent lady who’s earned the right to relax), Rachel still enjoys life and is eager to be your loyal companion. It’s not that she can’t learn—she's simply too old to be bothered learning new stuff. Hey Rachel, there's a generation of folks who can totally relate to that! Rachel will walk on a leash though she'd prefer a home with a fenced-in yard where she can go outside to do her business and have a bit of playtime or exercise. While she’d be happiest as the only dog, she could also do well with a calm canine companion as long as she gets plenty of one-on-one time with her human. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will be by your side—and in your lap—Rachel is the perfect match. Her warm and affectionate nature will fill your home with joy, love, and plenty of smiles. Come meet Rachel, and you’ll quickly see why she’s the kind of dog who can brighten your world. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and affectionate. Rachel has never met a lap she didn’t like! She believes people are put on this earth to provide her with a warm lap to curl up in. Other tips and tidbits: Rachel was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no information on her background. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 11-years-old. We celebrate her birthday as 11/14/2013. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 4, 2024, 1:54 pm
