Hello! My name is Papas and I’m here to tell you a little about myself. First, my stats: I’m estimated to be 4 years old and I weigh 11 pounds. I was found as a stray and brought to Animal Care Center in Manhattan. Frankly, I was a mess with a matted, overgrown coat, and I was so scared. Everything has gotten so much better now that I’m with Posh Pets. I’m bathed and groomed now and looking mighty adorable even if I do say so myself! At first I had a bit of a hard time getting used to everything, but now I look forward to my walks, am great on leash, housetrained, love treats (and will burrow in your pocket if I know there’s something in there!) One of my favorite things is jumping in your lap for some cuddles. I’m really good at that! Because of all the changes in my life, I do need a slow approach, and I need to be the one making the first move. I’ll do best in a quiet, adult home with older children. While I do go back into my kennel because I know I have to, I don’t think I’ll do well being crated. I’m up to date with vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and ready to make your home my home. Gertrude is an adorable girl and is between 4 & 6 years old. She is very sweet and seems to be a quiet girl so not a lot of barking. She is a true lap dog!!!!! Loves to cuddle! She loves other dogs too! Not sure about kitties because we don't have any , but we think she'd be fine. Gertrude is completely vetted and had an extensive dental. She needs soft food due to her losing so many teefs. Her jaw was also fractured at some point in the puppy mill but is now healed. She is very loving but is extremely shy at first and needs a little time to get used to new people. Please understand this. Gertie came from an Amish puppy mill and we are working on her housebreaking and that would have to be continued in her new home. She is a little chubby cause she loves her food.
