Story
This senior gal is just the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Chloe is low-key, loves her food (soft mainly) and her chews. She loves other dogs and decides she wants to play when it's bed time... it may take her a few days to come out of her shell, but once she does, she will make you smile everyday. She enjoys car rides and walks well on a leash. Her ideal home would be on the quieter side with another small dog to play with. Chloe is spayed, up to date on vaccines, has been microchipped, dewormed and flea treated. She had a mammary tumor removed (non cancerous). She does have dry eye and is need of daily eye drops (life long). She takes the drops like a good girl and doesn't fuss too much. Her foster mom states that she is going to be a tough one to let go... she's just that amazing. She does have accidents from time to time, but for the most part does potty outside. If interested in meeting this precious gal, please submit an application at www.pawzandpurrz.org

Story
Teddy was born around March 1, 2015 and weighs about 15 pounds. Teddy came to us when his human grew elderly and could no longer care for him or herself and went into assisted care.  Ok, so here is what we know about Teddy. He may have protein-losing nephropathy or Cushing's disease.  He also has bilateral grade 2 luxating patellas (very common and non-painful) and we've seen no issue, Lenticular Sclerosis (normal aging of the eyes), and several pea-sized adenomas (non-cancerous tumors). Teddy tested positive for Lyme disease in 2017 and then tested negative in 2025 (yay!).  Lastly its noted in his medical records in 2016 that he likely was hit by a car at some point in his life. Are you still reading? If you are, then you need to know Teddy is an absolute sweetheart who loves life and his humans.  Teddy rides beautifully in the car and walks nicely on a leash.  Teddy is fine with other dogs, and we can't imagine he would have an issue with cats, but ask us to cat test him if you are interested.  Teddy is not much of a barker, but after he decides to love you and  you leave him alone there is a very pathetic howl for a short time and then he settles in and is comfortable.  He should be fine with older, respectful children.  So this is Teddy, and he deserves to live out the rest of his days as a cherished family member. You will have higher vet bills, and you will have to say goodbye sooner rather than later, but adopting a senior dog is something you will never forget or regret.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $150.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Looking for the right home where my sweet girl Maisie can thrive. She needs a home with no children, preferably only with one or two people. She is a snuggler and likes to lay with her "person". She knows basic sit/stay/lay down/etc. and knows how to push a button to tell us she needs to go outside. She IS potty trained but sometimes has behavioral "accidents" as many small breeds do. She will use a pee pad when available. She has always liked any cat she meets. She is not usually a fan of other dogs, but might like another dog her size. The reason we are not the right home for her is she resource guards when it comes to her special spots and her people. Unfortunately that means my kids often can't approach me without her growling. She does have a bite history, both times with little kids when they were in her face/took something from her. Kids seem to make her nervous in general.

Story
Lucy was born around February 21, 2019 and weighs 20 pounds.   Lucy and five other dogs were surrendered to us when their human needed surgery and was no longer able to care for them.    Lucy is very sweet, laid back, calm. quiet and loves other dogs, cats and her humans, including children.  She is an affectionate 'velcro' lap dog and 'shadow', following her people everywhere.  Lucy is perfect riding in a car & walks nicely on leash without pulling.  She will even stay at your side off leash (because she wants nothing more than to be with/beside/touching her people! Lucy has attended PetSmart events and does a fantastic job! She loves people & greets everyone with tail wags while asking for love and is content just sitting, watching the shoppers. Lucy is nearly housebroken (but it took some time to train her & she is not quite 100% yet) & is actually quite perfect in every way!      The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
