Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.OMAR is listed as yellow but he is really blonde.  He is 5 years old and 17 pounds and cries/whines loudly to go potty.  He gets along with all of the foster dogs in my home and of course he is partial to the females as his play partners!  Yes, they are all fixed but he just likes the girls. OMAR walks well on a leash and rides in the car without getting sick.  He enjoys hanging with his humans and chewing on his bully sticks.  He is also crate trained but it is hard to leave him in a crate when I am home because he has a fit wanting to get out.  He likes toys and runs zoomies in the yard with the other dogs. If you are interested in adopting OMAR, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         November 7, 2024, 5:10 am

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.HAZEL says 'HI' and she would love to have a home of her own to love and care for her.  She loves to get her head rubbed and just hang out with her human to be close.  She is a great cuddler and just loves to hang around you.   At 3 years old and 12 pounds she makes a great companion for any family that is willing to let her hang out with you and just give her the love and attention she so deserves. HAZEL and her son were owner surrendered to me by a backyard breeder who only had the dogs in her home to make money.  Surprisingly HAZEL has a great, quiet and mild temperament with no aggression in any area.  When I put her out to potty I have to make sure to leave her out a while because she tries to get right back in to follow me around the house. If you are interested in adopting HAZEL, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jackie is ready to find her new home! She is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu who was recently surrendered by a breeder. Jackie has finished having puppies and is now excited to start her life as a pet. We can't wait to see what the future holds for her! Jackie is a calm and laid-back girl who loves to sleep the day away on her cozy bed, often cuddling with a buddy. She occasionally has spurts of playfulness with the dogs and enjoys joining in their fun. Jackie is progressing well with her housetraining and will use pee pads if necessary. In her foster home, she has access to a fully fenced yard, which is very helpful. We are currently working on her leash skills, and she is responding well to training. However, Jackie does not like being in a crate and will bark if she is confined for too long. She did well with the kids at our recent event, and as long as they are respectful towards her, there should be no issues. Occasionally, she may bark at the cats in her foster home, but that's the extent of her interactions with them.   Jackie will require grooming throughout her life so please keep that in mind if you are considering adopting her. Jackie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  She has also been professionally groomed.  Her adoption fee is $475  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 10:45 am

Story
Introducing Cookie, a brave Shih Tzu who's finally stepping out of her old world as a retired puppy mill mom and looking to embrace a brighter, kinder life. This gentle girl has spent years in less-than-happy circumstances, but she's ready now to meet a family who will show her what it means to be cherished. All About Cookie: Age: 6 years young Breed: Shih Tzu Personality: Cookie is a delicate, shy little lady who's still learning that people can be wonderful friends. She's hesitant but oh-so-sweet, greeting her humans with a waggy, barky fanfare each time they enter. Though she's curious about people, she's more of a "watch from a distance fan than a cuddle bug right now. Sudden movements make her wary, and she's not one for being picked up-but she'll eagerly keep a loving eye on her humans, checking in to make sure everyone's alright. With soft beds, tasty treats, and gentle words, she'll thrive in a home that doesn't expect instant snuggles. Special Needs: Cookie's still getting comfortable with home life, and she's working on her trust and house-training. With patience and a gentle approach, her loving nature is sure to blossom over time. Doggy Friends: Other dogs are her comfort zone! Cookie absolutely needs a calm canine buddy who can be her guide and help her gain confidence in her new home. A kind, gentle dog will be the friend she needs to feel truly secure. The Perfect Home for Cookie: Doggy Companions: Cookie thrives with a friendly dog sibling by her side. Having a buddy is a must! Patient, Understanding Family: A family who will give her time to trust and love at her own pace. Calm, Quiet Environment: A peaceful home with gentle routines will be ideal, helping Cookie slowly adjust to life as a loved family member. If you're ready to give Cookie the safe, loving home she's been waiting for, she's ready to meet you. Be part of her journey as she transforms from a life of hardship to a world filled with love, patience, and the joy of true companionship. Please give your veterinarian permission to provide a reference prior to applying, and let us know once you've done so.

Story
Ollie was a stray, we adopted in April 2020. He loves attention and our family has evolved so much that he has a lot of anxiety because he’s not getting the attention he used to. He does not like sudden unexpected movements, such as a biker or runner zipping past when on a walk or young kids screaming and running around him. He loves treats, walks, being held and petted, and tearing apart new stuffies. He is house trained. On rare occasions he uses a pee pad if alone for a long time. He can be anxious and barks a lot when ppl come over or he wants something. He goes to camp bow wow occasionally and does well with other dogs. He’d love to be somewhere where he can chase squirrels all day or sit on a lap and sleep. He is very sweet and deserves more atttention than we can provide. He loves older kids, and bonds to new people quickly. Also he needs grooming about every 8 weeks.

Story
Pookie is a charming 4-year-old Papillon-Chihuahua mix looking for a forever home. At 13lbs, this little guy has spent his life with one family and due to no fault of his own, they had to give him up. Pookie is still adjusting to his new surroundings but has taken it all in stride. He’s very sweet and willing to take on new adventures, and absolutely loves being with his human.  Pookie is a bit cautious around men and may need a little extra patience to build trust, but when he warms up, he becomes the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. He adores long walks where he can strut his stuff and explore, and he’ll happily follow you around the house like your tiniest, most devoted shadow.  If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky little sidekick, Pookie might just be your perfect match!
