You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Miss Muggles is a 16-pound approximately 7 year old female Shih Tzu / terrier mix that came to Tired Dog Rescue after being found in the bathroom of an abandoned home.  She's settling in sweetly with my dogs and has been just the best little girl.  She gets along well with my dogs, occasionally joining in on their games. She's never had an accident in the house, she lets me know to let her out if I've failed in my duties, and she's currently learning the doggie door.  At first, we thought she might be blind, but with medication for her dry eyes, they have cleared up. She may have poor vision, but she navigates the steps of the house by obviously watching them. Miss Muggles loves to go for short walks, walking well on a leash.  She will bark when someone comes to the door but will stop on command and otherwise is not a barker. She mostly likes to nap and though she's not been a cuddler, she loves to lie next to me when we are on the sofa.  If you would love a low maintenance perfectly behaved sweetheart of a girl and can offer her a forever home, she's the one for you! NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Chewy!! This handsome guy came to us from a local overcrowded shelter! He’s an adorable Shih Tzu mix. He’s around 2ish and weighs 15 lbs. He’s a sweet boy who does wonderful in the house and gets along great with all people and animals. He’s a pretty quiet and chill boy. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
