Story
Romeo is a cute little who is looking for a special home. He came to us with some medical needs including itchy skin and chronic dry eye. Romeo has been on medication for his skin and has been feeling better, but he is not a fan of getting his ointment and is not afraid to tell you to back off. Romeo is small but mighty and his family will need to work with our behavior team to help him feel more comfortable receving his eye meds so that he can live a happier and healthier life. Romeo takes a little time to warm up, but he would make a good supervisor for someone working from home and enjoys getting pet by his favorite people. Romeo enjoys going for walks and has made lots of dog friends since he`s been with us so we think he could live with a low key dog friend. Romeo is looking for a family who has patience and can develop a good relationship with a Fear Free vet!If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
It`s a bird, it`s a plane... It`s Gumby! This little dude`s name was coined because of his unique body conformation... in other words, this guy`s back legs are a little wonky! He gets around okay, but doesn`t stray too far! Gumby`s had a challenging life prior to his time at the shelter, so he`s coming out of his shell in his own time. In the right setting, Gumby can be silly and sweet. He`s looking for a patient adopter to let him get comfortable without putting too much pressure on him. It will be important for Gumby`s adopter to make necessary changes in the enviornment to support his physical limitations(like covering slippery surfaces!). Gumby`s hoping for a very special someone that can give him lots of patience and understanding. Story
Snuffy is a small breed dog looking for a home to call her own. They are one of the dogs from the large surrender we took recently and although they are doing well in a foster home, we are still getting to know them. Due to their abnormal history the dogs from this home are a mix of nervous and outgoing, but all of them are going to need a patient adopter who can help them get comfortable around new people and situations.Dogs from this surrender will need families committed to helping them settle in at ther own pace and learn normal dog behaviors. ***This dog is currently in a foster home and we are working to finish up ther medical care for adoption. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an adoption inquiry found on our website*** Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog thats a good match! Story
Meet Callie, a laid-back sweetheart with a heart full of love! Rescued from a shelter where she was brought in as a stray, Callie is estimated to be around 10 years old. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on preventative care, and she recently had a dental cleaning. Although Callie is completely blind, she navigates her surroundings with amazing confidence, easily getting around her foster home and keeping up with her furry siblings. She’s very food motivated, so her foster mom feeds her separately to keep her from snacking on everyone else’s meals. Given the chance, Callie will definitely explore the trash, so keeping things out of reach is a must! Callie is mostly housebroken if taken out frequently and is fantastic about standing still for her harness. She walks beautifully on a leash, and while she will use pee pads indoors, she may occasionally “mark,” which we hope will improve now that she’s been spayed. Don’t let her age fool you—this sweet girl has a playful spirit and absolutely loves her squeaky toys! Currently located in Wheelersburg, Ohio, Callie is ready to find her forever home. If you’d like to welcome this sweet girl into your home, please apply today!
