He is a very sweet and mellow dog that is great with other dogs. Henri is very affectionate and quiet (not a barker). He is house-trained and great in a car. Henri is scared of the leash, so his adopter should plan to continue to work with him on this. Henri has dry eye and will need eye meds the rest of his life. He is up to date on shots, neutered, de-wormed, micro-chipped and fecal tested negative. Danny is sweet and adorable and needs sponsors for his medical care. Danny was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. Both of his eyes were damaged so they were removed, he was neutered he got a dental, is up to date on shots, micro-chipped, heart-worm and fecal tested negative. He gets along fine being blind and is good with other dogs. He is about 15 years old, 13 lbs, a shih tzu, He is very comfortable in his foster home so we consider him a forever foster. Emily is looking for a great fur-ever home! She is a 10 pound, female shih-tzu born on 12/05/21. Emily was released by a breeder who decided they did not need her anymore and has never been bred. She has lived in a cage her entire life, so she is not house or leash trained. Because Emily is very skittish and fearful, she will do best in a quiet home with a patient, experienced adopter (with no young children) willing to work with her and let her get comfortable at her own pace. She would do best in a male-only household. She will need a fenced yard with another calm, socialized dog to teach her the ropes. She is starting to show her adventurous side by exploring her foster home, enjoying looking out the window, and being outside. Exciting News! We are now accepting applications for our sweet puppy girl, Peggy! She is a shih tzu/maltese mix. Peggy has healed completely from her amputation and is getting spayed next week. At just 5 months old, she’s doing wonderfully with her potty training, loves playing with other dogs, and is perfectly indifferent to cats. Plus, she has the cutest little underbite that makes her even more adorable! We’re looking for a special adopter with exceptional veterinary experience, as Peggy will need a family that can keep an eye on her future orthopedic needs. As an amputee, she may experience a bit more wear and tear on her joints, so a loving and attentive home is a must. If you think you can give Peggy the forever home she deserves, we want to hear from you! She is up to date on shots, de-wormed, micro-chipped and fecal tested negative. The adoption fee covers her spay at 6 months of age with one of our approved vet clinics. Introducing Hans, a quiet two year old Shih Tzu that was brought in by a citizen that found him as a stray. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate his owners, despite checking our lost reports and online. Hans has been quite confused on how he ended up in our care but has started to settle in. Hans does well with other dogs and wouldn`t mind a friend for company. He usually keeps to himself and isn`t much of a fan of wrestling or rough housing. He is still coming out of his shell so loud, quick movements scare him at times. We are looking for a home with no young children (5+ years) at this time as he is still adjusting. His new family should be ready for the upkeep of his coat so frequent brushing and professional grooms are in the future. His adoption fee is $235, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and neuter
