Story
Dusty was found in horrible condition while at a neighboring animal control where he completed his stray hold. An emergency grooming took a very long time and was one of the worst cases the groomer every saw. Dusty tolerated the grooming well and was a whole new dog after he was done! Quite the character, Dusty will require a fenced in yard. He is quite active and small dog friendly. We do not recommend small children. As a 1 yr. old dog, we are looking for a family for Dusty to grow up with. Dusty is pad trained and partially house trained. He is not good with children as he does have some resource guarding. Please submit an application at pawshs.org and NOT a Petfinder inquiry as they may not be answered due to the volume of these inquiries received. Our adoption fees include the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccinations (including rabies for cats / dogs over 4 months of age), flea prevention, worming, FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm test for dogs over 1 yrs old, and microchipping. The location of our Adoption Center PAWS at 7282 N. Cherryvale Mall Drive . Check out all of our adoptable dogs, cats and kittens on our website at www.pawshs.org. Story
Meet Mulan! Age: Senior Weight: 15lbs Breed: Shih tzu Good with: cats and small dogs (no kids) House trained: yes Crate trained: no, does not require a crate when left alone Special needs: will need drugs for grooming Mulan is a study in opposites. On one hand, she is a sweet, well-mannered girl who is ready for her forever home. On the other hand, she is a demon dog if you try to touch her face, cut her nails, or groom her. So like 90% of the time, she is practically perfect in every way. It is the other 10% of the time that you might want to invest in some Trazodone and a good pair of welders gloves. Possibly a hockey mask also. (Thank goodness Grinch feet are cute!) She loves to sit on the couch with you, or to sit on your lap or at your feet. She is a great leash walker and enjoys walkies, but only til she has pooped, then it’s time to turn around and go home. She loves ear rubs as well..... but make sure you define the difference between ears and face. Again, Trazodone, welding gloves, hockey mask. At the end of the day, this little girl will be a lovely companion for anyone who has patience (and drugs) for grooming. While we joke about her being a demon dog, it is very much situational and she is a wonderful dog much of the time. There is a little bit of resource guarding, but when you have had your life uprooted, you do tend to want to keep special and familiar things for yourself. This is an easily mitigated thing. Could you give this little girl the best Christmas gift ever... her very own home for the holidays? Mulan is fostered in the Madison, WI area Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Ronnie, a quirky, goofy little guy with a heart full of love just waiting to be shared! Ronnie is a vocal fella who’s not shy about letting you know he’s there—especially when he wants head or booty scratches! He’s a bit of a character with a cute, funny walk, but it only adds to his charm. He’s crate-trained, getting better on a leash, and loves his toys, bones, and warm blankets to curl up in. Ronnie is looking for someone patient who’s ready to take the time to earn his trust. While he may take a little time to warm up to new people, once he does, he’ll show how much love he has to give. Once he's comfortable, he also loves to be carried .  Ronnie is very food-motivated and enjoys training. He’s on his way to becoming a pro at housebreaking.  He’s great with cats and likes dogs, too, though he can be a little feisty around bigger dogs. He’d do best in a home with older, considerate children. He's looking for a family who will help him build his confidence. In return, Ronnie will reward you with affection, loyalty, and plenty of adorable quirks. To ask about Ronnie, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or email info@redemptionroadinc.org. Story
Meet Alex and Abbey – A Bonded Pair Looking for Love Alex and Abbey are an inseparable duo searching for their forever home! Abbey is a small mixed breed, possibly with some Shih Tzu or Poodle in the mix. This middle-aged lady may take about 30 minutes to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she’s all about high fives, kisses, and endless cuddles. Abbey is highly motivated by love and is always eager to please. She’s perfectly content whether she’s playing outside, perched on the back of a couch like a cat, or snuggling in bed all day long. Adaptable and quick to learn new routines, Abbey will thrive in a home with older kids due to her petite size. Abbey gets along well with dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She’s fearless in her role as your “almost toothless” protector, although she may bark to let you know she’s on duty. With patience and extra love, Abbey will blossom into your most devoted companion, her button eyes melting your heart every time you look her way. She has so much life and love to share! Alex, a petite Chihuahua mix, may be small, but he’s got big dog energy! If you love the spunky, spirited personality of Chihuahuas, Alex will keep you laughing every day. Like Abbey, he’s middle-aged and takes some time to decompress in a new environment. Once he’s comfortable, he’s a social butterfly who thrives on affection and loves to zip around the yard, play with dogs and cats, and, of course, enjoy his treats. Alex is mostly potty trained and learns routines quickly. He adores snuggling in bed and is fiercely loyal, despite only having two teeth left after a recent dental. Watching Alex grow more confident and affectionate every day is one of the most rewarding things, and he deserves a home where he can continue to flourish. Both Alex and Abbey are fully vetted, and they recently had dental work to ensure their mouths are in tip-top shape. If you’re ready to open your heart to this special pair, Alex and Abbey are waiting to fill your home with love and laughter! Their adoption fee is $650 cash or check and $660 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes s age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
Hi, my name is Bibble, I am a super special girl. I was a puppy mill breeder release which means I was used for my babies and had very little contact with the outside world. Jrs was a bit surprised when they realized that I arrived pregnant. I quickly went to a foster home where I did an amazing job taking care of my babies. They are all adopted and now it`s my turn to find my family. I have a special bond with my foster mom, and I tolerate my foster dad but due to my past I struggle with new people. Depending on the situation I tend to either run away or bark to let you know I am uncomfortable. I am looking for a special connection with a patient person that will keep me happy and safe! I am good with dogs and cats; in fact a confident doggy friend might help me out of my shell! You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JrsPupsNStuffInc Ask to meet me today!!Adoption fee: $650All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Story
My name is Francis. My foster mom says I`m adorable. I think I am too! :) I have puppy energy, but I`m very smart. I am doing good learning potty training, I understand `off`, though when I`m excited I tend to forget. I`ve also learned `no bite` and `no bark`, though when I`m too excited those are also forgotten, but once I calm down, I remember them all. I have caught on to things very quickly. I live with lots of dogs and puppies in my foster moms house, and I am super good about being respectful to them, as well as sharing and playing appropriately. How can you look into my eyes and not fall in love instantly? I doubt you could. I double dog dare you to try!Adoption fee: $700All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations.
