Story
Cagney and Lacey are a devoted mother-daughter duo who have been each other’s world through thick and thin, but now they need a loving home where they can stay together forever. Cagney, the 3-year-old mama, is gentle and nurturing, always looking out for her 1-year-old daughter, Lacey, who is playful, affectionate, and full of life. These sweet Shih Tzu mixes were heartlessly abandoned, but they still believe in love and second chances. They thrive on companionship, both with each other and with their humans, and would do best in a calm, caring home where they’ll never have to worry about being left behind again.

Story
Teddy is being fostered in NY, Teddy has vision. Teddy came to us from his local shelter, and he is a delightful mix of everything but the kitchen sink! With his soft white hair, tan spots on his back, longer body and shorter legs, he's cute as a button. Teddy is almost a "go with the flow" fellow. He transported to his foster home via a six leg transport of volunteer drivers, and did well. He isn't phased by loud noises or walking by construction vehicles, but he isn't a fan of rain! Teddy is very well behaved in his foster home. You want me here? Ok, foster mama! Should I be there? No problem, foster mama! It's not time to eat yet? That's ok, I'll wait until you're ready, foster mama! He does, however, have an anxious and timid side, and requires Trazodone before a vet or grooming appointment. At home, it's difficult to work around his face (such as putting in eye drops or wiping his eyes), and he shows that by moving his head from side to side or dropping his head to the floor and not wanting it to be picked up. His eye pressures are normal. We have been working daily on getting him comfortable when working around his face. He is housebroken and will stand by the door to go out, but will not ask. He has had only one poop accident inside. Teddy is not a lap dog, but he loves to sit or lie right next to you and have the top of his head and ears rubbed. He will not ask for pets, and if you stop petting him, he will quietly walk away and just try again later. But if you keep petting him, he'll stay right next to you all day! He has never shown interest in being on any furniture, and is not interested in belly rubs. Teddy enjoys walks and exploring and smelling his fenced yard, but is also happy to sleep much of the day. And on occasion, he loves to romp through the house! Teddy is crate trained and very quiet. The only time he barks is when it's feeding time, and then he gives only a few barks of excitement along with the other dogs in his foster home. He takes treats very gently from your hand, and sleeps quietly through the night in his own bed. Teddy is very respectful of the other dogs here (four are smaller and one is the same size) and will not invade anyone's space on purpose. If another dog barks at him or bumps into him, he will do everything he can to get away as quickly as possible, and so he prefers a home with smaller, quieter or older dogs who will not jump on him or bark at him. Teddy is hoping for a patient family who understands he can get anxious and timid and will help him work through it, but in return, he will love you with all of his heart. He is also hoping for a home where his family is home more often than not, and would prefer a quieter home without young children. He is very excited to be a good boy in his forever home! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Red & Rosie are 6 years old Shih Tzu/ Pug mixes. They are closely bonded & must be adopted together. Both are very friendly with people, but they are dog- selective and should be in a home that has no other dogs. They are crate trained and will use a pee pad if left inside too long & not taken out to potty. Rosie and Red are best friends but that doesn’t mean they are always lovey-dovey. Nothing to fear! They work it out in a matter of seconds and go right back to being besties. They are two sweet, funny, affectionate and entertaining dogs! Because they are considered "seniors" the adoption fee for both is $300. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Introducing BOGIE, a Bichon Frise & Shih Tzu cross breed who is just over a year old, weighing approximately 12 pounds. Bogie is a very sweet boy that was rescued from a puppy-mill breeder when he was “too old” to sell. Bogie does not have a mean bone in his body and really craves a gentle touch/pet because he finally feels safe. Bogie follows his foster mom around, especially when outside in the yard, and now feels safe to come when called. He now plays and sometimes gets the “zoomies” in the yard, looking so happy. His recovery from his horrible first year of life has been remarkable and we are so happy for him. Because Bogie can be skittish, especially from unfamiliar sounds and people, he requires a calm household, securely fenced yard and another friendly, small to medium sized dog in the home who will continue to mentor Bogie’s rehabilitation. Bogie enjoys the companionship of other dogs but more importantly he gets his confidence from them, learning more typical dog behavior. Bogie has good home manners and is housebroken. Due to his skittish nature, he has not been trained to go for walks on a leash. He is approved for adult-only  households. He is such a great little dog whose future is so bright! This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     January 7, 2025, 4:30 am

Story
Sally Owens, if you get it, you get it. Sally is one of local shelter pulls after being found as a stray. It is very obvious that at one time she lived in a home and enjoyed all the comfort things it has to offer. We don't know how she ended up in a shelter, but we do know that she deserves a home to call her own and we want nothing more than to find it. Sally is estimated to be between 6-7 years old. She has a little bit of vision impairment but definitely doesn't at like that so we're assuming it's with older age. She is currently on some eye drops to help ensure that she doesn't have dry eyes but thankfully so far a recommended OFC cost friendly option has done the trick. She is corky and full of personality. She is the kind of dog that minds her own, but you can't help but get a good laugh out of her. She enjoys a good bed, or multiple, she isn't picky but is spoiled. She is great after a couple of minutes of dramatically dragging her paw on the bars in her crate. She is great with potty training and though when put into her forever home there will be a transition period, she can stand a normal work day of 8 hours. She is great on walks and gets so excited that she tries to hold her own leash from time to time. Though she doesn't require long walks or extra activity, she would love a minimum for happiness. Sally is located in the Chicagoland area and accepting applications for residents within 3 hours of Chicago. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Her adoption fee includes spay, up to date vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and microchip.

Story
Cindy Lou is a spirited puppy. She's a charming girl who arrived at our rescue as a breeder release from a commercial breeding facility. While she did not have the same start in life that puppies born in a family do, she is a little timid to start. However, with a little time to develop her trust she blossoms into a charming companion, Like all puppies, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Cindy Lou important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Cindy Lou is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption donation is $1200..00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Cindy Lou wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Cindy Lou, please fill out an application for her adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster group. We are not a brick and mortar,. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Cindy Lou , please consider a donation for her food, housing, and veterinary care.
