Meet Doobie! Doobie is a distinguished gentleman looking for the perfect retirement home! He's a 10ish yr old guy who loves chilling on the sofa or out in the yard. Doobie gets along great with other dogs but he's also pretty independent so wouldn't mind being an only fur child. He wants nothing more than a calm, quiet place to enjoy his Golden Years and would be a great companion for a retired person looking for some help in the garden. Doobie is a homebody though - leash walks and car rides just aren't his cup of tea - so he will do best in a home with a fenced yard and won't at all mind chilling out at home while you run your errands Interested in adopting? I adopted my Oliver from his first owner (a college girl) who raised from baby when she was in college. She rehomed when she wanted to move away from city for her work. She does not know how Oliver have the habit of biting any when he is touched. He is taking daily a tablet (recommended by his pet doctor) daily for his anger issue to calm down. Oliver loves and follows one owner in the family and try his best to protect that person. Follows and tries to stay within 10 feet from that dog parent always. Does not like to be tied. He does whining throughout the time being tied and settle down. He understands all instructions and try his best to follow. He does not run away from home; follows the owner back inside home when taken out for walking or for his natural needs to front or back yard. When anyone touches his body behind or anyone has things in hand and try to tie leash on his collar, he is afraid that things may fallen on him. He is a happy dog.

Story
Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.

I came from a backyard breeder in Cartersville. They didn’t want me any more so Act2Pups stepped up and rescued me. I was just a number, I didn’t have a name. I hadn’t been to see a vet and was totally confused to be out of a wire cage. I was allowed to decompress and in a week I was coming out of my shell. All my teeth were rotten so I had them all removed, but I do fine eating wet food. I’ve come a long way and I’m doing great. I’m a sweet gentle fellow that needs a home that will understand what my life was like for so many years.

It appears that I spent a great deal of time on my own. When I was rescued I had mats on my mats and it took hours to clean me up. My photos are now, and a before and after grooming shortly after rescue. I can tell you that I NEVER WANT TO BE NEGLECTED AGAIN, grooming was so painful I screamed. I’m fine with other rescue pups and I’m getting better every day. I hope to be someone's princess soon.
