Story
Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.

I came from a backyard breeder in Cartersville. They didn’t want me any more so Act2Pups stepped up and rescued me. I was just a number, I didn’t have a name. I hadn’t been to see a vet and was totally confused to be out of a wire cage. I was allowed to decompress and in a week I was coming out of my shell. All my teeth were rotten so I had them all removed, but I do fine eating wet food. I’ve come a long way and I’m doing great. I’m a sweet gentle fellow that needs a home that will understand what my life was like for so many years.

It appears that I spent a great deal of time on my own. When I was rescued I had mats on my mats and it took hours to clean me up. My photos are now, and a before and after grooming shortly after rescue. I can tell you that I NEVER WANT TO BE NEGLECTED AGAIN, grooming was so painful I screamed. I’m fine with other rescue pups and I’m getting better every day. I hope to be someone's princess soon.

Story
I was in deplorable condition when I ended up at the shelter. It appeared that I was used for breeding and once I couldn’t produce, out the door I went. Matted to the skin, tumors all over my body, awful teeth, and eyes needing a little help. I’ve had lots of surgery, had my teeth cleaned and my eyes are now bright as stars. I'm a little older at 12-13 and only weigh about 12lbs, but I’m quiet, potty trained, and I’m ready for that warm lap and loving touch.

Doobie gets along great with other dogs but he's also pretty independent so wouldn't mind being an only fur child. He wants nothing more than a calm, quiet place to enjoy his Golden Years and would be a great companion for a retired person looking for some help in the garden. Doobie is a homebody though - leash walks and car rides just aren't his cup of tea - so he will do best in a home with a fenced yard and won't at all mind chilling out at home while you run your errands Interested in adopting? Meet Clarisse and prepare to fall in love!  Clarisse is  a 6 year old shihtzu that is ALL love. She was surrendered to our rescue when her family had to relocate and were unable to take her with them. Clarisse is housebroken and crate trained -great with all dogs and cats too - happiest place is prancing with toys in her mouth or right on your lap. She’s great on leash and we think she needs a home where she’s got her person around alot or can go to work with them and another dog friend as well - she's never been an only fur child and she told us she doesn't want to start now.  Are you a tried and true Shih Tzu person looking to add to your family?
