Story
Available for Adoption VIPRescue.org Dog names: Betty Jo Dob: 5-7-19 Breed: ShihTzu / Chihuahua mix Weight: 15 lbs Gender: Female House Trained: Yes Location: Redington Beach. FL Good with dogs: Yes, similar size Good with kids: unknown, 12+ patient & respectful Color: Black/Grey and small patch of white Fence: Recommended, we want her to have as much freedom as possible. Please read ENTIRE bio before completing an application to adopt. Betti Jo arrived at VIP Rescue with 2 little girls in tow from one of her many litters. Betty Jo is a 5 year old Shih Tzu / Chihuahua mix weighing in at15 lbs! Rescued from a hoarder/breeder, Betti Jo arrived just in time to VIP Rescue with life-threatening Pyometra. Betti Jo was immediately spayed, received a much needed dental and extractions. Due to trying to escape her miserable past life confined in a crate, many of her front teeth are gone. We celebrated with Betti Jo that day! No more babies, no more living in a crate, and it is time to spoil Betti Jo! Betti Jo is learning all about human contact, cuddles, now sleeping with a human, and enjoying a lap of love. While Betti Jo is absorbing all this love, she is still shy, still a little nervous, and we take things at her pace. Each day she is learning to trust more. We are preparing her to be adopted soon to a patient person; she is now healthy, and ready to become someone’s princess. Betti Jo is a patient mother to her pups, Billi Jo and Bobbi Jo. She is their jungle gym, their chew toy, they climb all over her, and sleep with her. She is housetrained and learning to walk on a leash. We have started giving her one on one time, and relieving her of her motherly duties. Each day she makes social progress and is loving all the attention, but this takes time…..and on her terms. Betti Jo’s future home must absolutely be patient, teaching her to trust, and be committed to showing her all the love she deserves so she can be the best girl we know she can be. We would love to see her go to a home where someone is home more often than not. She is learning what toys are. A fenced yard is recommended- we want her to have as much freedom as possible since she has been confined to a crate most of her life. She loves to hang out in the shade with you and she really enjoys the fresh air. A single-family home would be best. Betti Jo has found her voice and likes to bark as neighbors go walking by. She could be your one and only dog, or if you have another small dog that is submissive and mild mannered, that may work. As for kids, 12 plus and respectful of her space and patient would be considered. Betti Jo is spayed, a fresh dental, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and is on heartworm and flea prevention. If you think this shy sweet girl might be for you, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue. Benny and Teddy BONDED PAIR / Redington Beach BONDED PAIR Teddy (black and white) and Benny (brown) / Redington Beach Available for adoption VIPRescue.org Dog Name: Teddy (black and white) 12 yrs and 14 lbs Benny (brown) 9 yrs and 12 lbs Breed: ShihTzu Mix Gender: Male House trained: They are working on it, if let out often Location: Redington Beach, FL Gets along with cats: we think so Gets along with Dogs: Yes Gets along with kid: unknown, possibly respectful 13+, a meet and greet will be required. **We will verify ALL information on your application, any incomplete applications will be closed** Teddy and Benny Hello everyone. We are Teddy (larger black and white) and Benny (brown), a bonded pair of Shih Tzus looking for a new home. This sad story is far too common and happens way too often. Teddy and Benny. These two boys had their forever human for the last nine and 10 years, and one day their human got too sick to take care of them. They went to a different home temporarily, and then two weeks later found themselves in another place. THEN, a week later, another place, then a week later another place. ? Can you just imagine how confused these boys were? There’s no way they could possibly understand what’s going on. No one wants to hear this. No one wants to live this. The human got sick. A friend stepped in to help only to realize they couldn’t handle it. Then another human stepped in, and another only to reach out to Rescue to surrender the boys. These two boys didn’t ask for any of this. Teddy and Benny were happy the last several years only knowing one home, with THEIR human.. their loving caregiver. The family members didn’t want them. Again, this happens far too often and we can’t stress enough, PLEASE make arrangements for your pet(s) in advance should something happen to you where you can no longer care for them. PLEASE, DO. IT. NOW. Tomorrow is not promised. Lucky for them, they’re now in the care of VIP Rescue hoping they will find a forever home together. Teddy and Benny are bonded boys who only know each other. They only have each other. Vip Rescue WILL NOT separate them. This is where we hope an Angel will step in. A human or two who will see the love they have for each other and the love they are willing to share with another family. Are you willing to give these two boys a forever home??? Yes, they’re seniors, yes, they’re bonded. These are two things that are against them. Not many folks will take on a case like this. It takes them a few days to adjust to get to know their surroundings. Then they are absolute couch potatoes. They love their walks, they love their food, and once they adjust they love belly rubs and loads of attention. Teddy and Benny have hair that does grow so they will need to be groomed on a regular basis, this can cost anywhere from $50-100 per dog. Please keep that in mind for your budget if you’re interested in adopting them. They are basically housebroken but will use a peepad if they are not let out often. A home with a secure fenced yard is preferred. What do you say, are you that special Angel they’re looking for? This is the epitome of Rescue: There will always be puppies. There will always be young adults. There will always be seniors that are looking for homes. That’s what Rescue is all about. Rescue is the transition for seniors like this. We see it every day. We could not see these two going to a shelter, potentially separated, possibly being euthanized. They have a lot of life left in them in with the hopes that their life will be with you. Are you ready to open your heart and home to these two beautiful boys? They are neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and both received fresh dentals along with an annual senior wellness check. They’re also current on their monthly heartworm and flea prevention as well. To welcome these two into your heart and home, please submit an application to www.viprescue.org Do you have that special loving home for both of us? We sure hope so. Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application for us! Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. Story
Millo is a playful, spirited dog with a heart full of love, but his journey hasn’t been the easiest. Having faced neglect and mistreatment in his past, he has learned to be protective of his space and the people he loves. He’s always on alert, making sure his home and family are safe. However, beneath his cautious nature is a sweet, affectionate pup who just wants to feel secure and loved. Millo has shown incredible loyalty, especially to my daughter with special needs—his protective instincts shine when he’s by her side. While he takes time to warm up to new people, once he trusts you, he’s the most devoted friend you could ask for. He needs a patient and understanding owner, someone who can provide the attention and reassurance he craves. Millo deserves a home where he can feel truly safe, cherished, and special. If you’re looking for a faithful companion who will love you unconditionally and be your protector, Millo is the perfect match. Could you be the loving home he’s been wait
