PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO. AN APPLICATION IS REQUIRED FIRST, NO EXCEPTIONS Hi everyone! My name is Kochi. I’m a little Shih Tzu and I’m about a year old. I am a quiet, mellow little guy, and I get along with other dogs really well. I get nervous with new people in new situations. I am in training now and will need someone who is going to continue to work with me so that I can keep gaining confidence. Training will be required for anyone who adopts me. The groomer said I was a sweetheart and she even gave me treats for being a good boy, but I didn’t do so well at the vet. My foster mom says we are still working on it. I would love to just hang out with you and maybe go for some walks to explore new things. I am very sweet and love being near you, so I will follow you around everywhere and want to be on your lap when you sit down. My adoption fee is $450, which includes an adoption kit from Petsmart with a free bag of food and coupons for all the stuff you want to buy me and spoil me with. I am up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm, preventative, neutered, and microchipped. Please send an email to petadopt@hotmail.com to get an application for me. Can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Adopt Blondie / Largo, FL DOB: 12/6/2014 Breed: Shih Tzu Mix Weight: 12 lbs Color: white/blonde Gender: Female House trained: Yes Location: Largo Cats: Unknown Dogs: Yes, calm Kids: Unknown, probably yes 13+ Fence: not required **We will verify ALL information on your application, any incomplete applications will be CLOSED** Hello, my name is Blondie! I have been told I have beautiful ombre` wavy hair, with dark roots and blonde/white locks, and seriously, people pay good money to get hair like mine! I don’t care about all that though! I’m glad people think I’m cute, so I get lots and lots of love. I love to be with my human, in their lap as much as possible. I definitely want a family that is home more often than not. I do get nervous when I can’t find my human, because I can only find my human with my nose, as I had to have both eyes removed when I came to VIP Rescue due to a severely infected eye, and the other one had glaucoma, so the dog-tor was unable to save my sight. I came through the surgery with flying colors and most importantly, I’m not in pain anymore!! I wear this halo now (I’m an angel), this helps me find my way around without bumping into things. I do pretty good once I get familiar with the house. I do sometimes knock things over, open spaces are easier to navigate, and sometimes I get “stuck”, where I can’t figure out how to get out of a spot, so I’ll bark to let you know I need help. I can find my Foster mom when she’s in another room and follow her around the house. I can go up the short stairs to the couch, though most of the time I just ask to be picked up by coming over and rubbing up against her or lifting my paws, up, mom, up! I can even find my toys and I love to play with them, squeakers are my favorite! I have learned to go to the door when it’s time to go out. I go out on to the deck easy, but the stairs make me nervous, it’s tough to know when I’m at the stairs or about to fall off something, so my foster mom carries me down. I can go up the stairs pretty good; no stairs in my new home would be amazing! I find my own way around outside to do my business, and I have never had an accident in the house, I know to wait until I smell grass. I don’t like to be leash walked, I prefer to lead with my nose. I’ve been told some people “walk” their dogs in strollers, I might like that so I can relax and do the “sniffies” without being worried about bumping into things. I love to sit in the sun, just like any other dog, but I want you to stay out with me though and talk to me so I know where you are and that I’m not alone. I get along well with my foster canine siblings, one of them gets mad when I bump into her and she growls, but I tell her, hey, It’s not my fault, I can’t see! Now she has learned to move when I come close, the other two don’t mind when I bump into them. If you have animals at home already, we would require a meet and greet to see how they react to my halo and to make sure we get along just fine. I’m scared of Fireworks and will need to have all of your attention to help me through the times of year when they are used. 🙁 I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and am current on heartworm and flea prevention. I will require regular grooming for my beautiful hair, so please keep that in mind with your budget. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this beautiful girl? If so, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. She hopes to meet you really soon! Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.
