Story
Gray Hoverfluff looks like the kind of dog someone dreamed up after saying, “what if we made the world’s cutest little gentleman?” Everything about him feels unfairly adorable. The fluffy scruff, the tiny beard, the soft soulful eyes that look like they hold centuries of wisdom and at least three love songs. He has this cozy, comforting presence about him that makes people instantly melt, like he was specifically designed to be carried around, cuddled nonstop, and treated like royalty. And once his shy little personality starts to peek through? Forget it. Between the tiny play bows, the sweet gentle affection, and the way he quietly sticks close to his people, Gray has that rare kind of charm that sneaks up on you fast and suddenly has you wondering how you ever lived without a tiny bearded sidekick following you around the house. Watch his video and fall in love with this cutie: https://youtu.be/xsF8_wAWoKc?si=fOnreeAWgqX_Wi2t Gray Hoverfluff is believed to be a Shih Tzu mix approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 11 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Gray is a bit shy at first when meeting new people, in new environments and may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’s all about affection and spoiling you with his gentle love. He truly shines as a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to his person, soaking in love and giving it right back. His energy level is beautifully balanced, not too busy and not too sleepy. Just the right amount of energy, the kind of pup who fits perfectly into your routine. He enjoys getting out for walks (and walks nicely on a leash!) but is just as content relaxing at home snuggled up next you on the couch binge watching your favorite show or movie. He’s dog-friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced him to. He has met dogs his size and smaller and has also been around dogs twice his size! No matter the size, Gray has shown to be a polite gentle gentleman when he meets a dog on leash and shows that same level of gentleness when meeting dogs off leash. From what we have observed so far, he hasn’t been a super playful boy for the most part and though he may develop a playful side to him with other dogs after some time in his forever home. He did seem to open up more around If you don’t have other dogs, that’s fine by Gray too! He does not need the company of another dog to satisfy his energy needs or a pal to help him feel comfortable. He is a chill fella that doesn’t need a whole lot of exercise and he will naturally need some time to acclimate to his new surroundings. Gray also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also seem to feel comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Gray to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Gray has the kind of easygoing personality that allows him to thrive in many living situations. He would do very well in an apartment or condo setting, especially with someone who enjoys daily walks and a relaxed routine. His well-balanced energy level and polite leash manners make him a great neighbor-friendly companion. He would also be perfectly happy in a suburban home with a backyard, where he could enjoy sniffing around, sunbathing, and lounging after his walks. While he’d appreciate outdoor access, he doesn’t rely on a yard to be fulfilled; his happiness comes from companionship, not square footage. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who bonds deeply, loves cuddles, and brings a steady, comforting presence into your life, Gray may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. We are willing to test Gray Hoverfluff with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Diggie looks like someone shrunk Chewbacca down into an 11 lb bestie with tiny paws and a perfect button nose. Freshly groomed he is adorable, but when that scruffy grey coat grows out? Full rescue-muppet magic! Estimated to be about 4 years old, Diggie is a Shih Tzu mix with a playful side, a sensitive heart, and a very strong attachment to his people. Rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. Go watch Diggie Doodlebug on YouTube then come right back to read more about this shaggy little sweetheart. https://youtu.be/4uY3QypwIAY Diggie is currently fostered in a loving home where his foster describes him as playful, lovable, extremely smart, and full of personality once comfortable. He loves toys, enjoys digging dramatically through dog beds, and bonds deeply with his people. He especially loves kids and would truly thrive in a home with children. He also lives with cats successfully and can do well with calm, easygoing dogs after slow introductions. Once comfortable he is a bouncy, playful boy. The day we met Diggie he was in an unfamiliar environment with a heap of new people, not ideal for his sensitive nature but even while stressed he remained incredibly soft-tempered and never once reacted roughly. Once he trusts someone, though, his foster shares that he can handle a busy lifestyle and genuinely enjoys going places with her. Diggie is not currently leash trained but continues to practice with his foster, so a home with a secure yard would make life much easier for him while he continues building up his leash confidence. Crates are also stressful for him and his foster does not currently use one but shares that he is trustworthy in the home and has not been a necessity. This little guy is not an instant “life of the party” dog. He is a relationship-first dog. But for someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace, there is a really funny, loving, toy-obsessed little companion underneath that fluffy grey fur. Ready to welcome Diggie home? Story
We believe Bentley is a Shih Tzu mix, weighing around 13 pounds. He’s an easy size to travel with and include in daily life. He may be little, but he’s packed with lots personality and charm. As with any rescue, breed is always our best guess, but his wonderfully portable size is one thing we know for sure. Bentley is a small, sweet pup. He’s the kind of dog who thrives in a calm, understanding environment where he’s given the space to beat to his own drum! Once he trusts you, he’ll come in close for cuddles, let you scoop him up, and even show off his super‑cute zoomies! He’s not the kind of pup who’s ready for chaos, but he is ready for love from someone who understands what it means to earn a dog’s trust. His perfect match? A patient, experienced home with someone who understands small dogs and is willing to give him the time, grace, and consistency he needs. He doesn’t need much: just a safe space, a gentle touch, and a kind heart willing to walk slowly with him toward a brighter future. While Bently's energy level is more homebody chic than marathon runner, he is great on the leash and enjoys a good walk. Having a doggie sibling would be wonderful for him, but he could also thrive as a solo dog soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Bentley has also met a cat and is currently considered cat tolerant. Because of his interest level, a kitty sleepover would be the best way to get a fully defined answer. If you believe that the best relationships are built on trust, Bentley might just be your little soulmate. Fall in love with Bentley here: https://youtu.be/RxXaQj6cA8Q Bentley would be a wonderful companion for a singleton or older adult looking for a loyal, affectionate friend. He would love life in a house or an apartment, provided that tons of treats and lots of snuggles are involved! Adopt this spirited boy today—he’s ready to find her forever home! Currently in foster care and waiting for his perfect match. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697fed9ff5202b9b8405ae3b Any questions? Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This cute little boy is ANDY, he was named Raggedy ANDY because he looks so bad full of mats and overgrown hair.  He had been on the streets a long time by no fault of his own.  Someone on a street in San Antonio knew him and his owner.  His owner died and the family put poor ANDY on the streets.  The neighbors felt sorry for him and would take turns feeding him.  Once the winter got cold on a 26 degree night, a friendly neighbor put a sweater on him and allowed him to sleep in their gargage but that neighbor too tossed him back on the streets.  Another neighbor could not stand it any longer and called me to take him in. It took 2 days to groom ANDY with the hard mounds of mats on him and he just sat there very quiet and patiently waiting to get all of the stuff off of him.  Pictures are available. ANDY is 2 years old and 18 pounds and a great little guy.  He really likes following me around but he is pretty independent, not a velcro dog although he does like to cuddle and be close to watch TV.  He walks very well on a leash and does not get car sick and of course he still very well for a bath and to be groomed which he will need to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks. He gets along with the other foster dogs, crate and potty trained.  If you are interested in adopting ANDY please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This majestic little lady is QUEENIE  She is 9 years young and 7 pounds and a great little toy Shih Tzu that you can hold and cuddle and take on errands with you.  I thought about keeping QUEENIE myself because of her age but I have foster dogs who take up my time and attention and QUEENIE tries to follow behind me and ends up getting run over. She still plays and goes outside to potty with everyone else and all of the dogs are bigger than she is.  She is quiet and independent and primarily healthy.  Because of her age and breed, she has Luxating Patella in both legs but that does not stop her from running and jumping AND climbing the stairs just fine.  She use to sleep in a crate but decided that the laundry room was more comfortable so she drug her little bed and blanket into the laundry room.  I was shocked but I allowed her to make that her room. She is not spayed but I will get her spayed before she goes to her new home.  QUEENIE was horribly matted when I got her, she was found on the streets of San Antonio, TX and had to be shaved down.  She has grown out and needs to be groomed again which she will be this week coming up, April 1, Wednesday. This is simply a little doll toy Shih Tzu that is pure delightful to have around.  I love having her in my home. Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This stout short & stocky guy reminds me of a heavy and strong TANK so that is what I named him.  He is 35 pounds and a medium-small dog that is 5 years old and just built sturdy and solid.  He has a bit of Shih Tzu in him with that Terrier.  Now his personality is just the opposite, he is sooooo well-mannered with a curious behavior.  He follows me around like a student waiting for me to guide him and teach him what to do.  TANK is mellow, very quiet and just goes with the flow.  He never bothers the other foster dogs and they do not bother him.  He is crate and potty trained, walks well on a leash and jumps right in the car ready to go wherever. This guy would be a great first dog or a dog for someone who is not that active because the daily maintenance on him is very low.  He does enjoy a leisurely walk though because he likes to sightsee. We know he is some type of terrier mix but not sure what kind and he will probably need to be groomed every 3-4 months to keep his pretty golden coat looking good. If you are interested in adopting TANK, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org   ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.
Story
Story
Story
