Story
See description Meet 3 year old Seraphina! Her name means "heavenly winged angel" and "fiery one," and she is truly both. This sweet, delicate girl has an adorable face, but she's also full of energy and still has plenty of puppy-like spunk! She loves to have another puppy to play with.  At 11 pounds, she’s a Shih Tzu mix who’s spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and microchipped. Seraphina was found as a stray and brought to the shelter, where no one claimed her. It’s clear she had recently had puppies, and it seems she was used for breeding before being abandoned. Because of her past, she can be nervous around new people, but with patience, she quickly warms up and becomes an affectionate, playful, and loving companion. Seraphina is mostly potty trained, though occasional accidents still happen. She needs a home where someone is around often to work with her, help her continue socializing, and let her enjoy outdoor adventures and walks. Given her tiny size and skittish nature, we are seeking a recently retired couple or a family with older, gentle children who can respect her boundaries. Fast movements tend to startle her. Her adoption fee is $300. we are offering a discount if we can find someone to adopt her with Ducky. Ducky is also posted on our website. December 21, 2024, 4:32 pm

If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Dominic, and I am a sweet senior Shih Tzu boy who is 9 years old, and I weigh 13 pounds. I am very social and love other dogs so a sibling to learn from would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a sweet Shih Tzu, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Dominic 080824-05  November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

Story
Meet Sophia, a sweet Shih Tzu (weighing in at 10 lbs.) recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue. She’s a little on the shy side and might not hop right into your lap right away, but with some patience and gentle care from a loving family, she’s sure to come out of her shell. New experiences and kindness will help her blossom, and before you know it, she’ll become your new best friend.Stay tuned as we continue to learn more about her personality and watch her grow into the confident, loving companion she was always meant to be!- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
