Story
Wow! I'm a darling. I will be someone's love of their life! I was in a home with some people who couldn't keep me because they had do travel so much (why I couldn't go is a mystery to me). And, I love attention and would probably prefer to be an only pet so I can be the special girl. Older children are okay, but I'm not that fond of infants.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2215395##

Story
Making the most of his second chance at life is aptly named 4-months-old Mops. The 11-pound curly-coated cutie, so new to the feeling of safety, remains understandably shy yet sweet as he settles into his foster home, growing more confident, paw step by paw step, with each passing day. Not only does Mops get along well with his doggy foster friends, he’s been learning all about the joy of playing with toys, and already has several favorites. Moderately energetic at the moment, he knows no commands, hasn’t gone for walks since he’s not been vaccinated, is never crated and is diligently at work on his house training. Only just embarking on his new life’s greatest adventure, Mops will thrive in a loving home with another playful puppy already there and patient adopters who will teach him about “all things dog,” complete his training, including his commands, and guide him towards full and happy maturity.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Little Winston is proof of what TLC can do! After months on the streets as a stray, this sweet boy came to Circle2 extremely emaciated, virtually hairless, covered in sores, and had some painful eye injuries. In just 6 weeks he looks and feels like a new dog- his wounds and eyes have healed, his hair is coming back, and he’s slowly putting on weight! Despite his poor condition, Winston’s loving personality was immediately evident and has only continued to blossom! He is so grateful for any and all of the human attention that he can get. That said, Winston has made it clear that he wants to be top dog in his forever home. While he does coexist well with his canine foster siblings, he doesn’t like to share lap time or snuggles- Winston is definitely an attention hog and likes to be star of the show! His adopter(s) need to be ready to devote lots of love and time to this little guy.  In addition to cuddling, Winston loves to explore the big yard at his foster home, go on walks, follow the humans everywhere, and eat! Oh- and he likes to chase cats. This behavior has not been stoppable, so Winston needs to go to a kitty free household.  Winston has very good potty manners, and is crated at night and when his foster parents are away from home. He does wonderfully on car rides. As his health continues to improve, Winston will have a long, non shedding coat typical of the shih tzu breed (he may be a purebred, though we can’t guarantee that!) that will need regular grooming. He currently weighs in at 10 lbs, but could stand to gain another pound or two. The vet thinks this young man is just a year or two old!  If you would like to adopt please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  The adoption fee of $375 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.   Please note, Circle 2 Rescue cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have limited history prior to them entering the rescue.  ##2170372##

Story
Little Linnie is an 8 week old, female, teddy bear mix! She’s a sweet, playful little pup who entered a small, under-funded shelter in Texas. She traveled to CO with her littermates and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. We don’t have any information about what her canine parents were, but we are guessing she is a Shih Tzu mix. Linnie is presently 3 lbs and is in foster with dogs, kids, and cats. Linnie is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/linnie/. Story
Megan is an 8-week-old, spirited, pup that loves to explore and wrestle with her siblings. She has a perfect sea turtle shaped white spot on her chest. Megan entered an under-funded shelter in Texas with her littermates as a young pup. They traveled to CO in hopes of finding their forever homes. She joined a foster home with kiddos, dogs, and cats and she’s thriving. Megan is presently around 3 lbs. We believe she is a shih-tzu mix, however, neither parent entered the shelter with her so we can’t be sure. Megan is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/megan/. Story
Kate is likely the cutest dog I’ve ever seen. She’s 8 weeks old and loves nothing more than snuggle time with her foster mom. Kate entered an under-funded shelter in Texas with her littermates as a young pup. They traveled to CO in hopes of finding their forever homes. She joined a foster home with kiddos, dogs, and cats and she’s thriving. Kate is presently around 4 lbs.
