Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardNeeds a quiet homeMeet Radar, a courageous little 9-pound Shih Tzu Poodle who has made remarkable strides since joining his foster home. Once very fearful, Radar is showing his brave side every day, gaining confidence and trust in both his foster family and himself. He absolutely adores his dog friends, and nothing makes him happier than seeing a familiar pup — his tail wags so fast it’s a blur! He’s even started to eagerly approach the door for his daily walks, proudly wearing his coat and harness without fuss, a big step from when he needed coaxing with chicken. Walks have become a new favorite, and he’s even showing off his calm and friendly nature around larger dogs at the park.Radar still appreciates his personal space, especially with new people, but if you’re patient, he’ll gradually come out to explore and get comfortable. He’s learning to enjoy time with his foster family in the living room, soaking up the company of his foster siblings and discovering new treats, like licky mats with scrambled eggs. Radar is happiest in a calm, quiet home with at least one confident dog buddy to show him the ropes. He’d love a cozy dog bed to share, and ideally, a yard to explore safely as he continues his journey to trust. Radar’s journey has already been so inspiring, and he’s just looking for a patient, loving home to help him keep growing into the confident, sweet boy he’s meant to be.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Meet Honeydew, a sweet and friendly Shih Tzu (weighing in at 14 lbs) who was recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue. Despite her past, she has an incredible spirit and is always eager to make new friends, both human and canine. Her true happiness, though, lies in finding the perfect lap to cuddle up in—she’s a natural snuggler who just wants to feel loved and safe. This lovely girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a forever family who will cherish her gentle heart and affectionate nature. Could your lap be the one she’s been waiting for? Stay tuned as we learn more about this precious pup!- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Cry Baby, and I am a beautiful Maltitzu girl who was born 7/27/19, and I weigh 9 pounds. A sibling to learn from and play with would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Shih Tzu +, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Cry Baby 072024-46  November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another confident dog already in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardExperienced and patient familyNeeds an adult only home#### Meet Fancy, a resilient two-year-old Lhasa Apso weighing 12 pounds. Though initially shy, Fancy actively works with our dedicated staff to build courage and improve social interactions. With these interactions every day, she dreams of a patient and loving family who will support her journey of growth. With the right loving and patient family, Fancy will undoubtedly thrive and become a beloved lifelong companion.Fancy needs a home with an experienced owner to continue to help her grow. Although still shy of people, Fancy will gladly take treats. She also loves to play and throw a toy around as she zooms around the play yard. She would benefit from a small or medium-sized confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She can be weary of big dogs at first, but she just needs a chance to get to know them. Fancy is working on her leash training and her comfort level with humans, but has already come so far! Because of this she will need a home with a secure fenced in yard of at least 4` in height. * * * *Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
