HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardMeet Adele, a female Shih Tzu who is cautious and shy as she navigates her new world. Adele isn't comfortable being touched just yet and is still learning to trust humans, taking her own time to warm up to new people. Her journey to feeling safe and secure will require patience and understanding.Adele finds comfort in the presence of other dogs and will definitely need a more confident canine companion in her new home to help guide her and make her feel secure. When she's around other dogs, you can see her happiness shine through, and she feels much more at ease. This sweet girl just needs time to learn and grow, slowly discovering that humans can be gentle and kind. With the right support and a loving environment, Adele will blossom into the loving companion she's meant to be.Are you ready to provide Adele with the safe and nurturing home she needs? She's eager to find a forever family who will give her the space to grow and the companionship to thrive.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
HIGHTLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardNeeds a quiet homeMeet Radar, a sweet 6-pound Shih Tzu-Poodle mix with a gentle soul. Though Radar is a senior boy, he's still learning to trust humans after a difficult past that's left him quite fearful. Slowly but surely, he's making progress and has started accepting treats-sometimes even from a human hand-showing his trust is growing, little by little. Radar feels much more at ease around other dogs, often choosing a close doggy friend to bond with deeply. His closeness to canine pals shows his capacity to build strong bonds; he just needs the time, patience, and love to feel safe with humans too. He doesn't yet walk on a leash, so a secure yard is a must to keep him safe in his new home. Radar would greatly benefit from having a confident dog companion who can show him the ropes and help him continue to build his confidence. With the right home and the right friend, Radar will flourish and learn that life can be full of love and joy.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Cry Baby, and I am a beautiful Maltitzu girl who was born 7/27/19, and I weigh 9 pounds. A sibling to learn from and play with would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Shih Tzu +, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Cry Baby 072024-46  November 1, 2024, 7:29 pm
