Story
I am Henry and I would love to meet you. I’m a nine-year-old terrier mix but no one believes I am a day over five. I have the energy and spirit of a pup. I love to play but I’m also happy just relaxing in my bed. I was rescued from the East Valley shelter where I was very frightened but I am thriving now that I am out. I can still be a shy guy with new people, but it doesn’t take too long for me to warm up and make friends (I promise I am worth the wait). I am being fostered with a senior spaniel and two cats and we all get along so well. I am house trained, too! I love walks and when my belly is rubbed. I am obsessed with my toys; I even bring them with me on all my outings and adventures. I'm so ready for my next adventure - Wanna meet me?? https://shyclubrescue.com/adoption-application/

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION FRANNIE HAS FALLEN FOR PIRATE AND WANTS TO BE HIS FOREVER SISTER… THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR MEET MS. FRANNIE….and this petite, sweet little b/w, 9.7 lbs, 5 yr old, Shih Tzu munchkin is perfection! She is pint size but she has enough love to give an army! She was dumped in the North Central Shelter with four puppies! They were adorable but they looked nothing like her! Other rescues opted for the puppies, we took Mama. So glad we did! Frannie is super affectionate and loving and wants to be right with you. When you pick her up, she clings to you like she is hanging on for dear life. She has hidden energy and lets you see it once she is out and playing! When she plays, believe it or not she plays hard!! Yet, she will climb up to kiss a baby and is gentle as she can be. She is wonderful on a walk, usually does her business after a little while of exploring and is happy to greet strangers on the street! She is friendly with everyone…AND she has fallen for her foster roommate, Pirate!! Frannie and Pirate love for you to throw toys and Frannie will dance around but doesn’t know what to do with them! She’s also great eater and is very playful — but can also be shy at first and hide under the couch! When she hears “let’s go for a walk….” she is ready! Now that she has Pirate as her buddy, she doesn’t hide anymore! Frannie could go into almost any home but we have learned she would prefer a home where she can cuddle with another small dog AND she wants that dog to be PIRATE. She would be good with kids over 8 yrs old — maybe a little girl wants to dress her up! They are really so special and they are looking for a family and hopefully a yard to play with Pirate! Do Frannie and Pirate sound like they could be your next children? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION PIRATE HAS FALLEN FOR HIS FOSTER ROOMIE, FRANNIE AND WANTS TO GO HOME WITH HER!!! MEET PIRATE…a one-eyed,tri color, 2 yr old, 12.20 lb absolutely adorable Shih Tzu X. Not sure if he is purebred or not, but it makes no difference to us. What we can tell you about this little guy is he was brought to the San Bernardino Shelter with his eye dangling and their best estimation was he was hit by a car and left on the side of the road. They got him to the vet and had his eye removed! AND…the vet did a really good job! We don’t know what his previous home was like, but they opted not to pick him up at the shelter when they heard about the fees they would have to pay. OMG their loss, our/your gain. Pirate is a precious soul! He’s young, soooooo affectionate, attentive, happy. He will sit on his hind legs and watch while you prepare his dinner…and he is a great eater! He LOVES his walks, belly rubs AND his foster roommate Frannie — not necessarily in that order!! The two of them played in the yard and she wasn’t quite as much of a player as he was but she caught up and didn’t want to stop! See the video and pics. Just cannot separate them!! Pirate waits for Frannie to get her food before he eats!!! Pirate likes to chase toys but doesn’t bring them back yet — she helps! They love to cuddle and kiss (with each other and you) and be right with you! They would love a yard to fun around in, each other and you! Would you bring an “arrrgh” Pirate and a sweet Frannie to live and love in your home? They are waiting!! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET COLBY…and Mr. Colby has had a rough start in life. This 12.5 lb, 3 yr old, silver/gold/black Shih Tzu/Yorkie was given to a family as a newborn after an “accident” happened with a friend’s dog. After a couple of years, they didn’t want him anymore…no reason given. Then given to another friend, her husband didn’t like him so after 9 months (in which time they never neutered, groomed or bathed him once) they gave him to LHH to rehome. When he first arrived, Colby had almost no personality. We got him neutered, groomed and gave him lots of love and the light came back into his eyes. He seeks out love and attention now and cries when you leave him behind. He settles down, but we believe he would be happiest in a home where he is not left alone — would be great with another small dog who he can play with and help him feel secure. Colby is very gentle, so he would likely be great with kids over 5 yrs old. He is very smart, listens and stays when you tell him to stay. Walks well on a leash and loves to meet other dogs in the neighborhood. He will likely need a little help with his potty training, but he is doing fantastic here! The ideal home will have another small dog, maybe a couple of kids and a family who will love his to life! Does that sound like you? If you don’t have another dog, but you are home and/or will take him with you…what he needs most is love. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET OBIE…formerly Tobey in his previous home. This precious little 8.5 lb (underweight), 4-5 yr old, tan/white with black tips, Shih Tzu is a sweetheart. He was surrendered because his original parents moved internationally and the niece they gave him to (who had never had a dog) is also leaving the U.S. So, that left Obie homeless 🙁 Obie could not be sweeter if he tried, but he was a little confused why he was here 🙁 This little man looks like a puppy, but his teeth were a mess so we got him a dental while he was being neutered. We believe he is between 4-5 yrs. Vet thought younger!! He was soooooo skinny when he arrived and could still gain a pound or two or three! He has good energy. great appetite, loves to give kisses, enjoys playing with toys and would love a companion to hang out with. Obie does have a slight case of separation anxiety, but he does eventually settle down. He really needs a wing person to be his best self. That ‘winger’ could be a dog or a cat, as he loves both….but he would honestly love one or the other, and you!! While we never guarantee any of our pups are potty trained, Obie is getting the idea and with a few walks a day should do you proud! He will use a pp pad if one is available. And….he is a great eater! Obie is great on walks and he loves meeting people, dogs and children while strolling! However, he can be a little fearful when encountering a stroller or stranger (same in the home). He settles down pretty quickly. He is very kind and would be great with gentle kids over 8 yrs old. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body…unless you are giving another dog more attention than him, and then he just wants everyone to play together! The ideal home will have another dog, a work from home family and a yard so he can be his best self. Does that sound like your home?? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION HERE’S RYDER…known to his friends as “low Ryder!” This little 15 lb, charcoal/white, 4-5 yr old, Shih Tzu was found wandering around Riverside, lost, matted and alone. A couple of Good Samaritans called to him and he came to them without a struggle. Into their arms he went and they set out to find his owners. No such luck. No collar, no tags, no microchip. They alerted the shelter they had him and checked everyday for word. No such luck. But the lucky ones were Lhasa Happy Homes when they asked if we could find him a great home. Yes!!! When Ryder arrived — intact, severe UTI and eye infection — he was a little on the wild side. He was humping everything in sight and even tried to hump my head! We were afraid he had bladder stones, but fortunately it was just a bad infection. Now that he is neutered and his infection is gone, he’s just a wonderful little man who wants to meet everyone on the street and give sweet kisses when he can. No more humping!! Poor thing hates the cone of shame he has had to wear, but when it’s off he is a perfect little gentleman. One thing, Ryder makes you work at first for his attention and cuddles. It takes him a minute to relax and trust you….but once he does, he’s yours! He is very quiet and could be an only dog…but he won’t be happy if you leave him alone for hours and hours. If you work from home, he would love to be your side kick…or your partner at brunch. Ryder would be great in a home with kids over 8 yrs old, a family to take him on outings and just love him to life. He deserves a family…to make him happy and to make them complete! Is that you?
