Story
Meet Lil Ricky: The Heartwarming Survivor Introducing Lil Ricky, a delightful 4-year-old Shih Tzu-Terrier mix who embodies the spirit of resilience and joy! Found as a stray in the bustling streets of Los Angeles, Ricky's journey began at a high-kill animal shelter where he was left wondering why his previous owner never came to claim him. With his playful demeanor and loving personality, it was hard to understand how this sweet boy had been overlooked. As the shelter faced overcrowding and Ricky’s time was running out, an animal rescue initially stepped up to save him but then sadly never showed. Faced with the grim prospect of euthanasia, Ricky's fate took a turn when our nonprofit, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue heard about his situation and rushed to his rescue. Despite the shelter's estimation of Ricky being 8 years old, our dedicated veterinarians assessed his youthful energy and sparkling spirit, concluding that he is likely around 4 years old, based on his teeth and impressive stamina. This little polka-dotted bundle of joy is anything but a senior! He is up to date on vax. Microchipped and Neutered! Ricky is ready to fill a loving home with laughter and joy this holiday season. If you’re interested in making this charming pup a part of your family, please reach out to us at info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org for an adoption application. Let’s give Lil Ricky the happiest holiday ever and the forever home he truly deserves!

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION THIS IS BLISS (April, 2024) ...a wonderful, blissful little 14 lb,  5 yr old, b/w Shih Tzu, who came from the Riverside Shelter with a horrible case of kennel cough and a UTI.  We put her on antibiotics, which cured her UTI, but unfortunately it didn't stop her from getting a nasty case of pneumonia :(  Two weeks in the hospital and back at home, Bliss is a different dog!  Minute she came home, she was so excited, jumping all around, playing with her toys and just acting like a puppy!! With us, this little girl was the sweetest... potty trained, but we never guarantee.  When she goes out to do her business, she is pretty quick!  She will use a pp pad if you don't get her out 2-3 times daily, but she seems to hold it.  Loves to ride in the car and just go everywhere with you if you'll take her!  When you cuddle with her, she will stay in your arms forever as you pet and caress her body!   Our thinking is she was probably with a good intentioned, but not knowledgeable family.  With good nourishment (she loves to eat) some time, and a bit of patience, she will be a phenomenal addition to any family.  Just started to give a few kisses, and she loves to chase toys!  April, 2024 Bliss found her home...but not her forever home :(  CUT TO:  December, 2024  We are not sure why, but Bliss was not content in her adoptive home.  She was nippy with children and people wearing uniforms.  She was good with her dad but not so much with her mom, so she has been returned.  Once she nipped her in the nose, that was that.  We are currently evaluating her behavior, as we were told she was unpredictable with her adoptive mom, just never the dad.  We are thinking she might prefer men, so we are looking for a family for her with men and no children. In addition, the ideal home for Bliss would be one where you are home a lot to give her the attention and exercise she needs to see the world.  She seems to have developed fearful tendencies...so she will need time to acclimate.  Loves other dogs, but we're not sure if she needs another dog or not.  We think she could go either way...all depending on you.  Experienced parents would be best, just in case. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION FRANNIE HAS FALLEN FOR PIRATE AND WANTS TO BE HIS FOREVER SISTER… THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR MEET MS. FRANNIE….and this petite, sweet little b/w, 9.7 lbs, 5 yr old, Shih Tzu munchkin is perfection! She is pint size but she has enough love to give an army! She was dumped in the North Central Shelter with four puppies! They were adorable but they looked nothing like her! Other rescues opted for the puppies, we took Mama. So glad we did! Frannie is super affectionate and loving and wants to be right with you. When you pick her up, she clings to you like she is hanging on for dear life. She has hidden energy and lets you see it once she is out and playing! When she plays, believe it or not she plays hard!! Yet, she will climb up to kiss a baby and is gentle as she can be. She is wonderful on a walk, usually does her business after a little while of exploring and is happy to greet strangers on the street! She is friendly with everyone…AND she has fallen for her foster roommate, Pirate!! Frannie and Pirate love for you to throw toys and Frannie will dance around but doesn’t know what to do with them! She’s also great eater and is very playful — but can also be shy at first and hide under the couch! When she hears “let’s go for a walk….” she is ready! Now that she has Pirate as her buddy, she doesn’t hide anymore! Frannie could go into almost any home but we have learned she would prefer a home where she can cuddle with another small dog AND she wants that dog to be PIRATE. She would be good with kids over 8 yrs old — maybe a little girl wants to dress her up! They are really so special and they are looking for a family and hopefully a yard to play with Pirate! Do Frannie and Pirate sound like they could be your next children? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION PIRATE HAS FALLEN FOR HIS FOSTER ROOMIE, FRANNIE AND WANTS TO GO HOME WITH HER!!! MEET PIRATE…a one-eyed,tri color, 2 yr old, 12.20 lb absolutely adorable Shih Tzu X. Not sure if he is purebred or not, but it makes no difference to us. What we can tell you about this little guy is he was brought to the San Bernardino Shelter with his eye dangling and their best estimation was he was hit by a car and left on the side of the road. They got him to the vet and had his eye removed! AND…the vet did a really good job! We don’t know what his previous home was like, but they opted not to pick him up at the shelter when they heard about the fees they would have to pay. OMG their loss, our/your gain. Pirate is a precious soul! He’s young, soooooo affectionate, attentive, happy. He will sit on his hind legs and watch while you prepare his dinner…and he is a great eater! He LOVES his walks, belly rubs AND his foster roommate Frannie — not necessarily in that order!! The two of them played in the yard and she wasn’t quite as much of a player as he was but she caught up and didn’t want to stop! See the video and pics. Just cannot separate them!! Pirate waits for Frannie to get her food before he eats!!! Pirate likes to chase toys but doesn’t bring them back yet — she helps! They love to cuddle and kiss (with each other and you) and be right with you! They would love a yard to fun around in, each other and you! Would you bring an “arrrgh” Pirate and a sweet Frannie to live and love in your home? They are waiting!! Our website is updated daily. Story
Hi there! I’m Lenny, a sweet 7-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart full of love. I may be totally blind, but my spirit shines bright! Weighing 14 lbs, I love my leash walks and enjoy exploring the world through my other senses. I need a home where I can feel safe, as I can get anxious when alone. I’m still learning to be housebroken and need to wear a diaper, but with your patience, I know I can thrive! I don’t wear a halo and can’t do stairs, but I promise to fill your life with cuddles and joy. If you’re looking for a furry friend to share your heart with, don't look further! Let’s make my wish for a forever home come true! 🐾❤️

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET DANDELION….”Dandi” to his friends. This precious baby, who was born on 5/27/2024, is a white, presently 5 months old and 7-8 lbs, purebred Shih Tzu. His human mom is beside herself because she doesn’t feel her home is the right fit for Dandi. She has two cats, and even though Dandi wants to play with them, they are not having it. Since Dandi is only a puppy…she feels he needs the right environment and lifestyle to set him up for success and one that he will thrive in, and so she is counting on us to find that home for him. That being said….. Dandi is very, very friendly; loves other dogs, people, kids, cats, even leaves flying in the wind! As all puppies are, he is curious and ready to experience the world! People have often complimented him on his confidence and bravery as he loves BIG dogs! Zero aggression, just assumes everyone is his friend and doesn’t pick up on a hiss or a growl! Gives kisses, loves to play with toys, steals socks (will make you a better housekeeper!). His lack of focus is difficult for his first time pet owner family. The ideal home for Dandi would be one with another active, confident dog — big or little — who can show him the ropes as he learns how to be a good playmate. Gentle kids and a backyard to give him a place to exercise and blow off some of his puppy energy would be perfect! Regardless, he definitely needs attentive owners ready to commit to basic training to help him become the wonderful puppy we know he is. AND believe it or not…Dandi knows commands like sit, lay down, come, wait, leave it, cross (the street) and “be free” released to exit his crate! My dogs don’t even know all those commands! He’s working on potty training and doing really well. He is crate trained. At the end of the day, Dandi needs a home that will nurture and bring out the best in him. Training is essential, as few puppies come with a manual — that manual is YOU! If you have the right tools and temperament and you are looking for a wonderful puppy…look no more. Dandi is waiting. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria.
