For inquiries email susannah@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $700 Location: Things to consider when applying to adopt Prince: 1 year old Shih Tzu needs to learn potty manners needs to learn leash walking he is a RUNNER and a fenced yard is required for his adoption he will require basic manners/basic obedience class completion before the adoption is final   Prince is new in rescue. He was a stray at the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center. He was brought into the shelter after being found running the streets. Upon arriving at the shelter he darted out of the truck because he is so malnourished and thin, he squeezed through the bars of his crate and escaped. We feel sure he did the same at his home and then became lost but we have no proof. But, we do know he is a young Shih Tzu, around 1 year. He will require a fence for adoption due to his history of running. He will definitely need some TLC. A spa day, vet appointment and neuter will be scheduled ASAP!! Then he will be ready for his furever home. He loves to run and play in the yard. He was a stray and was at the Norfolk shelter. He had severe matting of the hair around his eyes, and he could barely see. The shelter shaved his hair around his eyes and we took him to the eye specialist. He is currently on eyedrops and doing very well. I was adopted but returned because I could not get along with the cat! :( Things to consider when applying to adopt Farley: senior shih tzu/mini poodle mix 18-20 pounds VISUALLY IMPAIRED needs a fenced yard NO children - their sudden, unpredictable movements scare him does NOT like to be groomed (may require a shave down under sedation quarterly) he is tolerant of calm, social dog DOES NOT like cats Farley has been with our rescue for a few months now. He is a 20 pound, 10 year old, visually impaired, senior Shih Tzu/Mini-Poodle mix. He gets along well with the resident dogs in the home. He loves attention. Farley's ideal home would be an all adult, quiet home where he can roam a fenced yard to sniff and explore, eat his two meals daily and sleep as he pleases, where he pleases. He LOVES a soft fluffy, calming bed to lounge upon. He is basically looking to retire with his own butler/chambermaid! LOL Farley deserves better than he was given. Will you be his HERO?? **He is not a fan of grooming or nail clipping. **Absolutely NO children. While he is not aggressive towards them, he is visually impaired and does not understand a child's sudden movements.
