Story
Leo is a very sweet, loving young man. He loves everyone and every experience for him is new and exciting! He loves to cuddle, be pet and get kisses, and will jump up to 'hug' when greeting humans. We are working on helping him to learn that all 4 feet need to stay on the ground! He loves car rides, running and playing and leash walks, though he's still learning that he isn't a sled dog! He is curious about the kitties in his foster home, and can be a bit too friendly with them, so any kitties in his forever home must be confident and understand his love. He is a little underweight and has now gotten into a great feeding routine with quality food and is looking better in his skin. He does have food aggression towards the other dog in his foster home and needs to be seperated or will bark and snap. Foster is working to get him to understand his food is his and he doesn't need to guard it. He doesn't like to be left outside alone, and will panic and cry if he thinks he was left. He is comfortable in his crate and knows that he only is there when foster is at work or it's bedtime. Inside he prefers to be touching his humon and the closer he can get, that happier he is! He came into care very matted, and needed a very close shave/groom. He will need to be maintained with daily brushing as well as routine grooming (likely every 3 to 4 months). He is up to date with his vaccines, will need a booster soon, is neutered and heartworm negative, and has been flea and tick treated.
His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption, and scroll to the bottom of the page. Do not click the link on his profile and be sure to fill in all anwers completely without using autofill.
All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved.
We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.
