The Good part. Brady is almost 5 years old, he is extremely smart, fun and easy to train. He knows his toys by name, and will pick items up and bring them to you. He loves chasing the ball and will bring it back like a pro. He is great with Cats, he's house trained but uses wee pads in bathroom. He is a great alarm dog, always alerting you if someone is in the hall or at the Door. He's great with the groomer, good lap dog and he's OK being alone, does NOT have separation anxiety. He loves the Dog run for about 30 minutes. The not so good part. He has what I think is fear aggression towards about 30% of dogs, on walks he will lunge at them, in dog run he will ignore them usually, or correct, other dogs he wants to play with. He will also occasionally growl at people if they startle him, wake him when he sleeping in a abrupt way. He will bite but not injure, if you do something he's not ready for. He needs a yard, a family older children, other pets, an active life style.

I've had Lightning since birth since I own his mother and father. Lightning is two years old. He is a fun loving and energetic dog that loves the attention of both people and other animals. He has lived around his family all of his life. He loves to play fetch with his favorite ball. In a new home, I would like for there to be more than one person residing with him. He can live with other animals as well. He wants to be the star so a house full of attention for him would be great. He likes to playfully bark and jump around with other dogs. He enjoys long walks and may even want to be carried back home. All of his other siblings have been adopted. He's a forever companion that needs a forever home.

Check out the "before" photo of Pirate to see how neglected he was before coming into rescue with NorthStar! But he's had a grooming and looks like a whole new dog! He had to have surgery to remove a bulging eye, hence the name "Pirate"! His foster mom said Pirate had a good first night. So far he has not lifted his leg in the house. I keep the belly band on when in the house & he is walking around on his own & I can’t watch him. He pretty much stays by us. He will go to the door when he needs to go out. He pees on everything outside. He is obsessed with the cat. We are managing but I don’t recommend he go to a home with a cat. Pirate is not food aggressive - he could care less. I had to coax him to eat because he’s too distracted. He had no problem when Tuli came by him when he was eating. He did manage to get into the bathroom & knocked over the waste basket. He got a hold of a paper towel and growled at me when I went in to see what was happening. I told him to drop it & he did (not sure that was intentional, lol). I was able to pick it up with no issue. Once Pirate has settled in NJ, we will update his bio. Pirate has arrived in NJ to find a loving & safe retirement home. Life has gotten so much better for 3 little poodles that were rescued in February and it’s only going to get better as they look forward to becoming cherished family members in their new forever homes. Hazel, whose date of birth is 11/17/18, was listed as a red poodle on her papers. She is incredibly sweet but has been somewhat timid and is slowly learning to trust. Her ear mites are cleared up and after being brought up to date on vaccinations, she had a much-needed grooming. Her groomer sent us a before and after picture of her, and remarked that Hazel was so timid she wouldn’t look at her initially but after the groom it was like Hazel thought, you made me feel so much better, you may be someone I can trust and looked at her. Hazel was spayed and had a hernia repair as well, which we had not been aware of, and a dental on 3/6/25. On 2/25/25 she weighed 8.9 pounds. Hazel is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Due to her small size, Hazel will only be considered for homes with older children. Hazel’s adoption donation is $665 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt this precious little sweetheart, who is currently being fostered in Arkansas, and give her the kind of life she so richly deserves, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
