You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & be able to drive for a meet & greet. Sophie is sweet but she is small. At only 5 pounds, you have to be careful with all the big stuff around her so she doesn't get hurt. She will need a safe place in the home when she is not being supervised (when your away and bedtime). A playpen is an excellent safe place. This will give her space to have her bed, toys, water, food, etc. Sophie is working on potty training. It is a process that will require commitment & patience, as she has a little puppy bladder. When a new environment is introduced, there are changes in routine, therefore she will need her family to set her up for a successful transition. If you work outside the home, you will need to have arrangements for someone to come let her out during the day. She doesn't need a big yard but it needs to be a safe yard. So if you have an aluminum fence, it will need puppy pickets or a material that prevents small dogs from getting through the slats. If you don't have a fence, that's okay, but you will need an x-pen until she learns how to walk on a leash well to do her business. Remember, NEVER EVER should she be left in a yard without supervision. Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility that requires oodles of time! Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt an adorable puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first. We are ready to process applications & find Sophie her forever family!
