You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Do Not Apply for a pet with PENDING in the name bar.  They have been matched with a home, but not adopted yet.   DO NOT APPLY FOR A PET WITH PENDING IN THE NAME.     NAME:Drizella BREED: Shih Tzu ADOPTION FEE: $450 BIO:Dizzy is a female adult Shih Tzu possible a mix.  She was found and no one claimed her in Southeast GA.  She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines.  She is pee pad trained.  She does have a tendency to wonder off, a fenced yard or leash walking would be best for her.  She likes smaller dogs only, she can get fresh with larger dogs she does not know.  She is great with older kids.  She is tolerant of cats, but does like to play and chase them.  She loves toys and will play with them for hours.  An application must be submitted to be considered to adopt.  Please do not apply if you are not available to adopt the animal within a week of approval.  Our applications are located under the FORM/APPLICATION tab on our website www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com There is a $20 suggested donation to expedite an application.  https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_donations&business=cynthia@eastcoasthumanesociety.com Please not, application processing time can normally run 10 to 15 business days.  We do not do a first applied, first to adopt process, but a best match for each individual animal.  Adoption fees are MONEY ORDER or CASH only.  Please check with your Building Manager/Landlord/Rental Management Company and /or HOA for breed and weight restriction, etc.  We do check. Our dogs at 6 months and older will additionally have been heartworm tested. Dogs that are 9 months and older will be spayed and neutered.  We will require that adopted pets be spayed/neutered by 9 months of age in our contracts.   Our pets are cared for in loving foster homes.  Please note the state in each pups name to see what state they are being fostered in. We do not have a facility, but will schedule a place and time for adoptions.  We are not available by phone until you have an approved application to adopt. Hi, my name is Sugar.  I’m a nine-month-old female Poodle blend, all 11 pounds of me! I am active and athletic and looking for a loving family that enjoys snuggles and games of fetch. General Behavior: Sugar is a happy, affectionate young pup who will greet you at the door with enthusiasm and one of her toys. She is smart and confident, and always ready for a cuddle. Likes & Dislikes: Likes & Dislikes: Sugar loves to run, jump, chase lizards, and play fetch. She also enjoys zoomies before bed and playing with her toys.  She tolerates car rides but needs to be well-secured. Training: Sugar is house-trained in her foster home and will need regular outdoor breaks in her forever home.  An active family that will continue her training would be best for Sugar. She’s a smart cookie and benefits from mental and physical stimulation. She has already learned basic manners but needs additional work on leash training.  Medical: This little girl just needs her heartworm and flea/tick preventive medicines like any pup. Other Animals: Sugar does well with small dogs her own size and could be in a home with or without other small dogs.  She does not have experience with larger dogs.  Sugar does have a strong prey drive so a home without cats would be necessary.   Children: Given her size, Sugar will do best with children over the age of 8 who are dog-savvy, monitored, and gentle with her.  Home: Sugar can be left alone for several hours but has a strong bark, so a single-family home is required. Given her high energy level, a fenced-in yard to run in would be great.  She sleeps well in her own dog bed but would also love to sleep in her human's bed.  Grooming: This sweetheart will need regular brushing to look and feel her best, as well as professional grooming about every six weeks.  The cost of this should be considered by her potential adopter.   Overall: If you are looking for a sweet and playful companion who will reward you forever with her infectious love of life, Sugar may be the one for you!
