Meet Chauncey, the happiest mutt on the block! He’s got zoomies for days, a wagging tail that never stops, and a smile so bright it could light up the room. Play fetch? YES, PLEASE. Chase squeaky toys? SIGN HIM UP. Chauncey also can turn into the chillest cuddle bug ever. He’ll flop right next to you, let out a happy sigh, and soak up all the love. If you’re looking for a best buddy who can keep up with your fun AND your naps, Chauncey’s your guy! Here's some notes from his foster: The first night Chauncey was feeling anxious and pacing a bit. It’s totally understandable, given his recent surgery and the new environment. But the second night was a total win—once we let him snuggle up in bed with us, he slept soundly all night! Chauncey is an absolute sweetheart—he’s the biggest love bug you could imagine. He adores cuddles and will happily follow you around the house, greeting everyone with a wagging tail. He’s incredibly friendly and adjusts quickly to new people, making friends with everyone he meets. We’ve never seen such a happy, affectionate dog! He gets along great with both men and women and has a nice amount of energy—he handled a 20-minute walk with some light hills like a champ. For having had two major surgeries just days ago, he’s a real trooper! He’s got a great appetite and an even better spirit. His remaining eye has limited visibility, though it’s a little hard to fully assess because of the large cone he’s wearing. We already miss him and can’t wait to pick him up! He’s truly one special dog, and we’re lucky to have him for these few days.

Introducing the amazing, the magical, the one and only Roxy! Our beautiful senior poodle mix, Roxie is now officially ready for adoption. She would love to start 2025 in her FORVER home. Roxy is 10 years old and approximately 24 pounds of sweetness. Roxy is a social dog who likes everyone she meets. She is good with big and small dogs and BONUS, Roxy is a fan of cats. Roxy is excellent in the car. She enjoys joining her foster parents on road trips to Clearlake so if you like to travel, Roxy just might be the perfect co-pilot. Roxy loves to spend her winter days on a soft fuzzy blanket. She also enjoys time in the yard. You weed; she supervises. And leisurely walks around the neighborhood are a must.  Roxy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She had a dental on 12/19/2024. No yucky dog breath there! Northern CA adoption only. Roxy is fostered in Neward, CA. Meet-and-greets will be at that location. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. To recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for ROXY is $300. Story
Leona is appx 5 yrs old and she does well with everyone including kids. She also does fine with other dogs of all sizes. She's calm and loves to cuddle but she also likes to play with other dogs as well. She was a rescue from China and was pulled from a very overcrowded shelter, gave birth to a few pups shortly after. She walks well on leash and loves to eat! SF Bay Area adoption only.
