Story
Hello there, I'm Honcho! I'm a handsome, confident Shiba Inu who’s on the lookout for my forever home. I love being close to my person—there's nowhere else I'd rather be—but I’m also a dog who appreciates a bit of personal space, so I prefer if other dogs keep their sniffing to themselves! I get along great with people and have a friendly, curious nature. I don't bark much, which is pretty unique for a dog like me. They say I’m in great health, and though I’m good with other dogs, I tend to prefer those who are my size or smaller. If you have a fenced yard, that would be a bonus, as Shiba Inus like me have a bit of a reputation as runners. My last home was with a breeder, where I was on my own for six months, so now I'm really excited to explore everything around me. I’d love a home where I can be close to my person and have plenty of new things to check out. Ready to meet? Let's go explore together! Story
Wowsers, there is a lot of Shiba competition around here at Fetch lately! My name is Tohru and I'm a newly single mom. You can adopt my puppies if you want a bunch of squeaky, whiny, potatoes on legs OOoooor, you could adopt me instead! I've got the makings of a great house dog! I'm good at potty training unless there is indoor grass, err carpet? I'm energetic and love to play in the yard. Squeaky toys are basically the best thing I've ever seen. I think I love my squeaky pickle more than my puppies. I'll let you know if a stranger is near. I'll let you know if the coffee maker, stove, alarm and any other beeping is occurring. I love pets! Especially if someone else is getting some. I'm food motivated, so maybe I'd be game to learn some tricks when I'm not in mom brain mode. I'm beautiful inside and out! I know it's hard to see me past those cute pups I made, but it takes a lot of work to get from there to moi! Let's go on a cheese date! Every dog is different, but here is some information on what bringing a breeder dog into your home can be like and some supports they may need to transition into their new life! While it can be challenging at first, it is incredibly rewarding to see these dogs grow and come out of their shells. Story
I'm Yuki and while I am a puppy, I have been told I'm a DeLiGhT. Unironically! I'm really close to being totally potty trained, I know sit and can walk on a leash like champ. I love treats, toys and most of all - I love you! People are so much fun, and I love playing with them and other dogs too! Not to brag, but I'm a smart cookie. And food motivated. So, for a famously stubborn breed, I'm eager to learn! I'm ready to spread my wings and leave the nest like my siblings. I'm a super good girl and excited for a fun filled future with someone like you!I might need a bit of work to get all trained up, but I'll try my best if you do! Story
Meet Momo, the Spirited Shiba! I’m a Shiba Inu, one of the most unique and independent breeds out there! Life outside the place I came from is new to me, but I’m absolutely loving it. I thrive on adventure—running, playing, and exploring with my canine friends of all sizes. I’m quick on my feet (good luck catching me in a game of chase!), and I never turn down a good toy or a tasty treat. I’m potty trained and love being around my humans, whether it’s for snuggles or playtime. But let’s be real—I have that classic Shiba personality, which means I sometimes have selective hearing. Because of this, a fenced-in yard would be best for me to stay safe while I zoom around. I’m a petite gal with a big heart, looking for a family who will appreciate my spunky spirit and love me for the fun, active, and loving companion I am. Could that be you? This keeps it fun and engaging while making sure adopters know the key details (energy level, need for a fence, potty trained, etc.). Let me know if you want any tweaks! Story
Hello peasants! Since I’ve settled in to being the ruler in the Kingdom of My Foster Home, I believe it’s time for a proper re-introduction. As my royal subjects, you can refer to me as Queen G. My favored Parliament members get to call me Gracie, but let’s be clear — I run the show. I have warmed up quite a bit in the short time I’ve been here, but if I don’t want to do something, like climb up or down stairs, nobody is going to make me. If I decide I want something, like my favorite squeaky toy or a yummy treat, be sure to get out of my way. Let’s be real, I can’t always be in boss mode…I LOVE to get crazy with my toys and can occupy myself for hours. I can get along with other rulers, as long as they are respectful of me and my laws. I’m not great with the whole leash thing, with it being my kingdom and all. If you think your land is in need of a fearless leader, check out my application! You can apply for me at: https://www.fetchfosterandrescue.com/adopt Name: Grace DOB: 12/7/20 Breed: Shiba Inu Sex: Female Weight: 27.7 lbs Altered: Yes Adoption Fee: 400 Good with cats: I'm unsure yet! Good with dogs: With dogs that respect my space and with proper introductions- yes Good with kids: has been good with the toddlers and kids met so far — very curious about them Special Requirements: I mean, I am a Shiba so a fenced in yard is for the best for me and you! *Positive reinforcement obedience training is a great way to bond with your new family member. Story
Meet Blinky! Blinky came to CCHS as a transfer from another shelter that became wildly overpopulated. Blinky is a 4-year-old mixed breed that is as sassy as can be! Blinky is a little on the shy side with strangers, but once she's comfortable around you she really lets that quirky personality of hers shine through! Blinky did come to CCHS being blind in her right eye. The eye had worsened and started to cause pain for Blinky, so it has now been removed. Blinky recovered from that surgery like a champ! Though Blinky can get along great with other dogs, we still recommend that she is the only pet in the household as she can overstimulate easily. With any rescue dog, training and socialization is incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Blinky today!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $100. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.
